Ewe’ll be sorry

A giant python bit off more than it could chew when it tried to swallow a pregnant ewe. It got stuck on a road this week after swallowing the ewe in the Malaysian village of Kampung Jabor, about 200 kilometres east of Kuala Lumpur. The six-metre reptile weighing 90 kilograms was too laden to move, making it easy for firemen to capture it, said a local daily newspaper.

A couple of Kingston canoeists were recently paddling placidly in the waters near Rock Dunder, sharing the area with courteous owners of motorized boats who had slowed to an idle in order to admire the bucolic vista. After about 10 minutes, a motorboat towing children on an inner tube roared into the area, completing several wide circles as its young, giggling passengers hung on to the fast-moving tube at the end of the boat’s tow-rope.

Good summer fun, you would think.
