As you probably know, we have an (multiple) award winning series on our YouTube channel called Manchild Drink Beer. When you have something with so much prestige and valor, people are going to start copying off your work.
A small, speck of a website called College Humor.com has apparently taken our idea of playing with toys and moved it into the video game world. Although I can’t condone them for ripping off our amazing videos, we do feel that it’s a honor that other, less important sites are noting us as an influence in their endeavors.
Oh, this video is fucking awesome, too.

The upcoming “Music” title for Wii has a lot of promise. Now, if they can license some music besides classic Nintendo tunes, Rock Band and Guitar Hero will be in serious trouble…
From BBC:
The company did unveil a Grand Theft Auto game in development for the DS console and a new Wii title, called Music, which sees gamers play more than 50 musical instruments by using the Wiimote motion-sensitive controller. Mr Iwata said the success of the Wii and the DS was proof of a new form of social interaction developing. He said: “I believe we must find more ways for players to feel engaged, different ways for them to be enriched. The overall experience from our products must be increased enthusiasm.”

Metallica is being honored with their own version of Guitar Hero in 2009. Song selection might be a problem for the band, especially deciding whether to feature any of their new material. The Metallica version of Guitar Hero will probably include mostly tracks from the new album to up record sales.
Choosing the entire album Kill ‘Em All is unlikely but seems like it would make the most Metallica fans happy. Ride The Lightning may be a better choice for Guitar Hero because the featured songs are perfect for smashing buttons on a plastic guitar. This album could potentially be problematic on a game that plenty of youngsters play because it discusses the death penalty, etc. This would probably have to have a mature rating, limiting sales. Master of Puppets would be a better choice for Guitar Hero because after coming out, it reached a large and diverse audience. Metal fans who consider Master of Puppets the best metal album of all time could have a problem with it entering the video game world, but who knows? And Justice For All will most likely be included, or at least the popular track “One.” For now we’ll just have to wait and keep playing the Aerosmith edition.

I remember being like 12 and watching The Lawnmower Man and seriously getting a BONER thinking about Virtual Reality. Now it looks like shit is starting to get a little bit closer to becoming a reality, with homeboy Johnny Lee’s little invention above and the 3DV Systems camera being unveiled at this year’s CES. Pretty soon teenaged shut-ins will be able to pop a disc in their Wii virtually mow Hayley from Paramore’s box in total 3D. THAT SHIT WILL MOVE UNITS!
