  • I have no idea how this passed under our my radar for so long, but if you haven’t heard of Bo Burnham yet you should probably start checking out his work. This singer/songwriter/comedian has a thinking-man’s way with words and uses his songs to project some kind of sweet comedic gems. It seems that I’ve really missed the gun on this one, because the guy has been on Comedy Central, Last Call with Carson Daily, College Humor and is set to have his own Comedy Central Presents special come this year. To make me feel like an even bigger loser about the whole situation, it turns out that he’s only 18. Fuck.

Bo Burnham (born August 21, 1990) is an American comedian, singer, songwriter, musician, rapper, and Internet celebrity. He was born in Beverly, Massachusetts, United States, graduating from St. John’s Preparatory School. He currently resides in Hamilton, Massachusetts. Burnham achieved Internet fame in December 2006 after releasing a video featuring his performance of an original song, “My Whole Family Thinks I’m Gay”, on YouTube, which has received over 2 million views as of November 2008.[1] The video had been originally posted on break.com, but received no attention there for quite some time. Over the following year, Burnham released 13 videos on YouTube and MySpace, garnering a combined total of 22.4 million views.[2] Burnham’s videos have also been featured on a variety of other websites, including Break.com, CollegeHumor, and Comedy Central official site.

22.4 million views? Jesus Christ, Video Matt needs to take some notes from this guy. Check out his song, “New Math”, with the lyrics after the jump.

    Get Video Matt on MTV

Our little boy, Video Matt, is all growed up. You can tell by all his tattoos. Anyways, he’s trying to stretch his wings and fly, and has entered himself into the running to be a host on MTV. He will still of course, stalk Hayley from Paramore in his spare time, and sit outside the Synthesis office smoking cigarettes all day, but he’ll also be world famous instead of just internet famous, so go vote for him here. WORD

  • Jeffree Star Responds to Video Matt’s Review

In a true battle of internet titans, Jeffree Star and Video Matt now officially have beef. Video Matt’s scathing review of Star’s new CD Cupcakes Taste Like Violence, can be seen above, and Star’s own take on the video can be found in the comments. SPOILER ALERT: he didn’t like it. But be warned: Video Matt doesn’t take that shit lying down. Stay tuned for internet drama.

  • Video Matt Raps

We’ve considered locking up the cameras at night so stupid shit doesn’t end up getting filmed when we’re out, but then again we wouldn’t have the great fortune to stumble upon Video Matt’s first attempt at being the next Vanilla Ice.
