Add to the sound of panties splashing the sound of a million boners popping up against denim: Circa Survive will be touring with Thrice and PELICAN. Until then you can read Ryan Prado’s Pulitzer-worthy piece with Anthony Green when you download your free issue of Synthesis Digital HERE. Or watch my interview with pelican’s Brian Herweg HERE.

It should be buying the two new Thrice EPs that came out today: Fire and Water. Fire basically sounds like the music that Vikings would get fucking pumped on while braving the foamy surf to pillage the homes of barbarous seaside villagers, which i guess would make Water the soundtrack to the subsequent gentle love made to the captured concubines and assorted womenfolk. These records are so good they almost make up for the fact that their drummer has that super ghey column in AP with the fat-but-still-almost-hot broad from Morningwood. You should go see them on tour with mewithoutYou and Brand New and say whats up to these kids.

So for some reason to day a bunch of awesome emo bands decide to lace people up with tracks off of their forthcoming records. ZOMG THNX!

Thrice has posted two tracks off their forthcoming Fire and Water EPs over at AOL’s Spinner. You can check out “Firebreather” (which, as you might have guessed is off of Fire) and “Digital Sea” (off of Water) here. These EPs, especially Fire, are seriously OWNING my stereo right now. If you like Thrice, or shit that’s angrily melodic, you will not be bummed out when these CDs street on October 16th. For more about these EPs, and the two more that are set to follow in spring, check out AlchemyIndex.com.

Our friends ( or I guess I should friend hehehe) Number One Gun have also posted a brand new track off their forthcoming CD, The North Pole Project due out in January 2008. The song is called “Millions” and you can check it out on the band’s Purevolume page, if you so desire. Being fortunate enough to once again have heard this entire record, I can tell you that this CD is definitely not the “safe” move for a band coming off of two well-received, super straightforward melodic rock releases. There is a lot of crazy shit happening in the mad genius mind of head NOGger Jeff Schneeweis and he spend some long days and nights in the studio crafting some ultra epic hooks and some pretty wild loopiness for this CD. There’s some songs on there that are straight aggro, and some songs on there that might make you want to grab your friends sister and make out with her a little bit. Its on some other shit, and I mean that in the good way.

And last but not least, today marks the debut of the third track to be previewed off of Emery’s forthcoming I’m Only a Man. Like the previous two tracks, “After the Devil Beats His Wife” has got people talking. Check it out on the band’s Purevolume page and figure it out for yourself, bro.

You know why I women don’t find me attractive? Because videos like this sexually stimulate me.
Thrice’s 4 EP “The Alchemy Index” project has a tennative release date in September (highly doubt it, but one can hope, right?). 4 EPs. All with a different element as a concept. After an amazingly progressive and under appreciated release. Fuck yes. I need a smoke.

I don’t know if maybe I just have shitty taste in music but I’m fucking jazzed about this year’s Taste of Chaos tour, which is like Warped Tour but with bands that scream a lot more and don’t have as cool of haircuts. Actually most of the bands headlining this year’s tour are anything but scene-cut tight pants-ers: the Deftones are all mostly all tubby bastards by now but still bring some shit; Thrice who are also mostly just chilled out dudes hanging back; and Story of the Year who are also just kind of tubby ass regular dudes (but still do the occasional guitar spin jump kick thing but whatever). Also, weird ass bands that aren’t really even all that metal like Dredg and Pelican are playing that shit this year, so no one can even talk shit. If you want tour dates and all the other bullshit, those fuckers just put up the new site here or you can just wait for the next issue of Synthesis fucking Magazine which contains a special Taste of Chaos section, with interviews with Thrice, Silverstein, Dredg, Atreyu and tour founder Kevin Lyman and all kinds of other sweet shit, bro. DO IT
