So I just got through posting Synthesis Weekly Managing Editor Ryan Prado’s epic interview with one of his all-time favorite musicians, former ALL frontman Scott Reynolds, on the frontpage and man are my CTRL buttons tired! Check it out if you’re bored, and if you’re REALLY bored, you can also check out some of the other recently posted interview from all sorts of gangster ass motherfuckers, including The Matches, Mindless Self Indulgence and Mason Jennings, just to name a few. While you’re there why don’t you click on a few banners too, just to make us look good…I’m not sayin’, I’m just sayin’.

The one-man video vortex known as Video Matt had the chance to kick it with Shawn Harris, frontman for Oakland, CA’s The Matches this weekend and has posted the results for your viewing pleasure on our YouTube channel. The two discussed everything from Barack Obama to Beer Pong to the band’s latest record, A Band in Hope out now on Epitaph records.

This is a really long awaited C.D. by yours truly. Sure, we all rag on Video Matt because he listens to the same pop punk bands i listened to in 2001, but sometimes you need some good glowing vibes from a band. If you haven’t checked out The Matches yet, you’re a tool and chances are I dislike you and your family… but in the off chance you really want to impress us here at the Synthesis (namely just me), go out to your local dying record store and pick up their latest effort, A Band In Hope (say it out loud for lolz/ a total mind fuck).
These dude put on one hell of a live show, and although my trusted colleagues are going to be super busy downing PBRs in Austin for the next week, they wouldn’t dream of missing killer footage of their SXSW showcase at Emos… would they?!
2 new tracks from the album are up on their Myspace, so go check those out then book it back to watch a music video about smashing TVs.

Hi. Most of the country has already had their taste of the summer-long advertising/music festival beloved to the unwashed mashes and known as The Vans Warped Tour. Well, it’s finally making its way back around to our parts, and it looks like I will be attending. This will be my first year attending Warped. I mean, I’ve written fascinating and well researched articles about it, but never made it down to the show. Besides, look at me:

Yeah, I’m rad, but it looks like I’d be more comfortable inside a dimly lit bar, swilling delicious canned beer, spitting ridiculous game. Well on Thursday, I’ll be hissing at the sun and watching mall rock galore, and I’ll probably have to interview a few bands with whom I’m not well acquainted. So I need your help, faithful and semi-literate Synthesis community.
These are some of the bands I might interview:
Sum 41
The Almost
The Matches
Killswitch Engage
Paramore
A Static Lullaby
Bad Religion
Bleed The Dream
Circa Survive
Coheed and Cambria
Cute is What We Aim For
Pennywise
While I’m down with Pennywise, Killswitch and Bad Religion (and think Circa Survive are the saviors of anything remotely emo), I don’t know jack shit about Cute is What We Aim For, or Paramore, or Bleed The Dream or whatever. Here’s where you come in:
WHAT SHOULD I ASK THEM? Please help me look like less of a douche and let me know the questions you would ask if you were in my shoes. Comment on this blog or send your questions to letters@synthesis.net.
I don’t want to look like my boy Dallas Von Killbot interviewing Three Inches of Blood.
The remaining handful of Warped Tour dates are listed after the jump.
