Sweet news for the somber at heart. Checking in with my Saddle Creek newsletter I noticed a little gem about the weepy/wonderful duo Azure Ray buried in the end:

“5. We are very excited to announce that Orenda Fink and Maria Taylor are getting the band back together…Azure Ray will be playing a show at the Troubadour in Los Angeles on November 30. No further plans for Azure Ray beyond this…for now.”

This was immediately confirmed via their MySpace:

If you’re lucky enough to be living in the UK, you might want to hold off on downloading Tokyo Police Club’s debut full-length album Elephant Shell from the iTunes Music Store, and wait for the bonus double disc that hit stores in the UK on May 5th.

The extra disc features remixes of Elephant Shell tracks from Field Music, Tom of Los Campesinos!, Dntel, the Good Life, and Flowers Forever. Those UK-only bonus tracks, meanwhile, include a new song– appropriately titled “New New Song”– and a cover of the Rentals’ “Friends of P” (!) pitchforkmedia.

YouTube is a Web site that you may have heard of, but Two Gallants is a band you may not have, and if so, you should remedy that right away. Being featured on the front page of YouTube isn’t a great accomplishment in and of itself, but it’s neat when they pick something with merit. The song is from their latest, self-titled album available from Saddle Creek.
