While I was away on tour (the exploits of which will be posted in this space eventually…when I run out of other bullshit to write about…which will be never…), Video Matt posted a metric shit ton of videos from Warped Tour, and from his vault of content. I was sifting through them today to edit them words when I stumbled across a video Matt was yapping about yesterday, Rody Walker (Protest The Hero) and his letter to Metal Jake.

From Matt’s description I thought it was just Rody writing a letter to “Metal”; the greater concept, not just a friend of Matt’s. Perhaps my misinterpretation of Matt’s story will be the genesis of another Award Winning Manchild Drink Beer episode. Only time will tell. This video from Rody is still pretty BA though.

Synthesis heartthrob Video Matt recently went down to San Francisco to interview a gaggle of artists. Check out our Youtube page to see exclusive footage of Katy Perry, Story of the Year, Protest the Hero, Norma Jean, The Highter and like 45 other rad bands. Here’s Matt with Matt Mcginley of Gym Class Heros.

As if it wasn’t enough that Protest the Hero frontman Rody Walker came to Chico a month or so back and rocked an acoustic jam in Managing Editor Ryan Prado’s apartment, posed some tough questions for Paramore and sat down for his own Q&A sesh with Video Matt, he’s now acting as a roving correspondent for Synthesis.net at this year’s Warped Tour. Check out his interview with From First to Last above, and subscribe to our stupid YouTube channel so we can spam you with our shit ALL DAY!

As part of our continuing series of interviews and acoustic sessions filmed live at Synthesis Weekly Managing Editor Ryan Prado’s apartment above the historic Senator Theater in scenic Downtown Chico, we caught up with crazy Canadian Rody Walker, frontman for Protest the Hero and sat him down for a rather humorous song, above, and interview below.
Coming up shortly, as fast as Video Matt’s little fingers can edit will be similar sessions with MxPx and The Color Fred. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to stay abreast of these updates as they happen. OMG A BREAST!!!! GET IT????////

Not that this is necessarily a broad scoped piece of news, but nevertheless, I feel like trying to stack up some sort of credibility today. My apartment, in the Tower of the Senator Theatre in lovely Chico, CA, will once again play host to a slew of acoustic sets by touring bands. Tonight’s lineup will consist of OG Tooth and Nail punks MXPX, Vagrant Records badasses Protest The Hero, all followed by a set by The Color Fred.
For a taste of what the fuck I’m talking about, check out last week’s acoustic set and interview with Armor For Sleep, as well as the interview with Metro Station.
I’ve always wanted to run my own venue… And not pay the bands SHIT. My dreams have come true!

I just got off the phone with Fred Mascherino of The Color Fred (and formerly of Taking Back Sunday). No shit, Fred has to be one of the nicest people in melodic post-punk pop-rock (or whatever you want to call it. You tell me.). Actually, maybe I’ll ask him what I should call it (besides damn good) when Synthesis meets up with him for an interview at Ryan’s. We’ll also be filming some of his live show at the Senator Theater (look to www.youtube.com/synthesismagazine in the next couple of days for the goods). The Color Fred is currently on tour with Chiodos, MxPx and Protest The Hero.
Here’s a video of the recording session of The Color Fred’s debut album, “Bend To Break,” courtesy of Equal Vision records.
