Bush Street in San Francisco was recently vandalized and changed to Obama Street. Amazing!

Over the weekend President Bush was visiting Southern Iraq in an effort un-burn the billions of bridges he’s set ablaze over the last 2 terms. While at a press conference, an angry Iraqi reporter launched a pair of shoes at President Bush, screaming “This is a gift from the Iraqis!”. Bush, making the only successful move he’s made while in office, swiftly dodged the shoe and laughed off the incident while the attacker was dragged off. Honestly, it was kind of impressive.

The US President laughed off an incident in Baghdad on Sunday when he was nearly hit by an angry Iraqi reporter’s shoes.

The journalist, Muntather al-Zaidi, 28, a correspondent for the Iraqi station al-Baghdadia, shouted in Arabic: “This is a gift from the Iraqis; this is the farewell kiss, you dog!” He then threw a shoe at Mr Bush, who ducked and narrowly avoided it.

Zaidi then threw his other shoe, shouting in Arabic: “This is from the widows, the orphans and those who were killed in Iraq!” Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki’s security agents jumped on Zaidi and hustled him out of the room. He was detained on unspecified charges.

Mr Bush tried to brush off the incident. “All I can report is it is a size 10,” he said. He also called the incident a sign of democracy in the country, saying, “that’s what people do in a free society, draw attention to themselves”, as Zaidi’s screaming was heard outside.

Good god, you just know that guy is going to get shit from his local terrorist group… WORST SUICIDE BOMBER EVER.

Yesterday’s Presidential election, some are saying had the biggest voter turnout this country has seen in over a century. The numbers are pretty convincing I must say, some are estimating an over 60% of registered voters actually voted. The following story shows just how many people, and the insane variety of people that actually seemed to care about this election. A friend of mine and I went to San Fransisco to see our friends of ours who are on tour and were playing a show in San Fransisco (love you Pizza and Maine boys). As the election results were getting closer and closer to being the final nail in John McCain’s coffin we took a walk to Mel’s Dinner which was down the street from the venue. On the way out of Mel’s there was lady who definitely had a steady meth intake for probably a decade or so, had little to no teeth and probably haddn’t showered in weeks yelling OOOBBBAAMMMAAA!! over and over again. For me the fact that this lady probably had no idea where she was and knew Obama had just got elected and was excited about it blew my mind. After the Mel’s and the show ending and good bye’s were said, my friend and I were walking back to our car which was a little over a mile walk through The Tenderlion District in downtown San Fransisco. As we were walking another, more well put together than the previous meth addict, but a meth addict none the less started yelling at my friend and I. He was saying something to the effect of “it’s you guys, it’s you guys”, at this point we had no idea what this guy was trying to get across. He proceeds to say “It’s all thanks to you young, white college kids that we have Obama, thank you”. He yelled and mumbled this for about a block walk behind us. Again, the scope of how far this election actually reached blew my mind. An older, “semi-bumly”, African American male, thanking two 20 something white kids walking in downtown San Fransisco past midnight for the outcome of the presidential election. It was a very odd experience I must say. Everywhere we walked there were chants of “OBAMA” and “WE DID IT!”. Reguardless of who you wanted to win this election, republican or democrat, everyone should agree, people must have wanted change if bums in the street are celebrating over the outcome. I’m just glad that we were out of the city by the time it was more official that Prop. 8 would actually pass.

Whoa, real news?!

In what I’m guessing is going to be the first of many attempts, U.S. agents recently brought down 2 neo-nazis’ attempts to go on a killing spree fueled by race. Daniel Cowart (20), and Paul Schlesselman (18) were caught in the midst of a plan which involved killing 88 African-Americans and decapitating another 14, with Obama being the final target. You know how you hear of ‘the white man keeping the black man down’? This is probably what they’re talking about.

U.S. agents have broken up a plot by two neo-Nazi skinheads to assassinate Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and shoot or decapitate 102 black people, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives said today.

In court records unsealed today in U.S. District Court in Jackson, Tennessee, federal agents said they disrupted plans to rob a gun store and target a predominantly African-American high school in a murder spree that was to begin in Tennessee. Agents said the skinheads did not identify the school by name.

Jim Cavanaugh, special agent in charge of ATF’s Nashville field office, said the two men planned to shoot 88 black people and decapitate another 14. The numbers 88 and 14 are symbolic in the white supremacist community.

The men also sought to go on a national killing spree after the Tennessee murders, with Obama as their final target, Cavanaugh told The Associated Press.

“They said that would be their last, final act — that they would attempt to kill Sen. Obama,” Cavanaugh said. “They didn’t believe they would be able to do it, but that they would get killed trying.”

An Obama spokeswoman traveling with the senator in Pennsylvania had no immediate comment.

The men, Daniel Cowart, 20, and Paul Schlesselman 18, are being held without bond. Agents seized a rifle, a sawed-off shotgun and three pistols from the men when they were arrested. Authorities alleged the two men were preparing to break into a gun shop to steal more.

Cowart and Schlesselman are charged with possessing an unregistered firearm, conspiring to steal firearms from a federally licensed gun dealer, and threatening a candidate for president.

The investigation is continuing, and more charges are possible, Cavanaugh said.

The court records say Cowart and Schlesselman also bought nylon rope and ski masks to use in a robbery or home invasion to fund their spree, during which they allegedly planned to go from state to state and kill people.

For the Obama plot, the legal documents show, Cowart and Schlesselman “planned to drive their vehicle as fast as they could toward Obama shooting at him from the windows.”

“Both individuals stated they would dress in all white tuxedos and wear top hats during the assassination attempt,” the court complaint states. “Both individuals further stated they knew they would and were willing to die during this attempt.”

Cavanaugh said there’s no evidence — so far — that others were willing to assist Cowart and Schlesselman with the plot.

He said authorities took the threats very seriously.

“They seemed determined to do it,” Cavanaugh said. “Even if they were just to try it, it would be a trail of tears around the South.”

The weirdest part? They planned to wear top-hats and tuxedos during the assassination… although truth be told I would probably do the same, with the addition of a cane and bifocals.

In other political news, Senator Obama currently leads McCain by 9 pts. (52%-43%).
