Elephant 6 Crew To Embark On Tour

If you remember the term “college rock,” then this news might interest you. In addition to the Major Organ and the Adding Machine movie, starring Neutral Milk Hotel mastermind Jeff Mangum and Of Montreal mind-master Kevin Barnes, a great many members of the once-essential Elephant 6 Collective are heading out on tour.

Music Tapes frontguy/Neutral Milk Hotel member Julian Koster describes the upcoming “Elephant 6 Holiday Surprise Tour” as something like “a big orchestra, variety show, silly happy thing.” How very fitting.
The tight-knit, loosely-defined Georgia-based psych-rocking collective will assemble its ranks (well, quite a few of ‘em, anyway) for an October jaunt celebrating the music of Olivia Tremor Control, Circulatory System, the Music Tapes, Elf Power, the Gerbils, Scott Spillane, Nana Grizol, Nesey Gallons, and more. Joining Koster on the trek are Will Cullen Hart of Olivia Tremor Control, Scott Spillane of the Gerbils, Laura Carter of Elf Power, Eric Harris of OTC and Circulatory System, Nesey Gallons, and whoever else they can fit in the van.
As for the Major Organ and the Adding Machine film, I imagine it’s going to make The Magical Mystery Tour look like Oliver Stone’s JFK. I have no idea what that’s supposed to mean.

In between epic sessions of salmonella ass piss, I found time to post some bullshit to the front page, including an interview with John Fernandes from the Olivia Tremor Control and Circulatory System, and reviews of the new White Chapel disc, some crazy comp of Gypsy Music and Dieselboy’s new double disc (not to be confused with Diesel Boy, as I found out the hard way).
