Paradise, CA Lives Up to Its Name, Again

A few miles up the road from our homebase here in Bumblefuck, CA is a town named Paradise, which is kind of a ballsy thing to name your town, especially one in semi-rural Northern California. Thus, it was lulz this summer when Paradise burned down, or at least some of it. But fire can’t keep the haters down; the parts of Paradise that are left are still full of aspiring klansmen and people who hate “niggers,” especially Barack Obama, as evinced by the following e-mail from the Paradise Center for Tolerance & Nonviolence:
Dear Friends,
PCTN has learned of three recent occurrences of Hate Graffiti / Incidents in our community.
An Obama sign was defaced with the word “nigger”.
WP (White Power) was painted on a wall.
A figure of a black man hanging by a noose was in someone’s front yard as a “Halloween decoration”. The Paradise Police Dept. acted promptly on this report and took steps to persuade the individual to remove the figure.

Travis from Gym Class Heroes Arrested For Beating Warped Tour Heckler With Microphone

Can’t really say I blame him though:
Gym Class Heroes lead singer Travis McCoy was arrested last night in St. Louis on one charge of third-degree assault. The punk-hop group had just finished the first song of their Warped Tour set, “Peace Sign,” when a black audience member near the front row called the New York-based singer a “fucking ignorant nigger.”
McCoy calmly asked the man, “What did you just call me?” As security was removing him from the crowd, the frontman reached down and broke his microphone over the man’s head. McCoy immediately apologized for his reaction and said it wasn’t representative of him as a person. “I’m sorry. But when someone calls you something that ignorant and that offensive, you have to bash their head in with a microphone,” said McCoy. The audience cheered as the man in question was carried away by security. Local police are not releasing the victim’s name at this time. McCoy was arrested onstage at the end of his set. He was released early this morning on $500 bond.
