If you’re like me and you’ve been chomping at the bit to hear the new Supergrass record Diamond Hoo Ha, you probably shat a brick today when the band announced it won’t be released in the US until June 10th. Now you could go and illegally pirate it off the internet (it’s been released in the UK for about a week now), but if you’ve got a conscience, and I hope you do, here’s some video to tie you over until it hits stores.
Supergrass- Bad Blood (newest single from the upcoming album)

All this Hoo Ha business might have you a little bit confused, so just so to clear things up:
In September 2007, bassist Mick Quinn suffered two broken vertebrae and a broken heel while sleepwalking out of a first floor window in September in France. The band toured in the summer and fall 2007, headlining Guilfest among others and debuting new material, with the youngest sibling of the Coombes brothers Charly, replacing Quinn on keyboard bass on the later dates. Since Quinn’s return, Charly has remained with Supergrass, playing second guitar, percussion & singing backup vocals for them on the Diamond Hoo Ha tour.

POTSUSA has a new album. Yes. Yes they do. These are the same Presidents that brought us “Lump” and “Peaches” over a decade ago. These Are The Good Times People will be their first release since 2004’s Love Everybody, and let me tell you, it’s no damn good. Now I’m not trying to be an asshole, because I’ve got as much of a soft spot for the Presidents as anybody. I even liked a couple tracks off of their second album, II, like “Mach 5.” But Good Times… is anything but. “Truckstop Butterfly,” tries really hard to rekindle the story telling happiness of days past, but winds up being a tired and painstaking effort. You can say the same for “Ladybug,” “French Girl”; basically the entire album. I’d say it’s time for these old chaps to move on.
