I will always have a soft spot in my heart of hidden hearts for Fat Wreck Chords figureheads NOFX, despite the fact that my pubescent, nascent punk rock months were really short-lived. Here, Mike is bored with life and music, hates the usual spots he plays, hates TV people, and yeah, likes drugs and shit.
“Hey I’m Jewish, I can say ‘goddamned jews.’”
He says he likes Tat, who I met for a second at the Four Seasons. They were nice dudes. Fat Mike is a lovable jerk, isn’t he?

In what is sure to be a contriversal move, actor Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man) will be playing a black man in his latest film. The movie is comedy based, which may give him a free pass from total backlash. Also in the film is a near albino Jack Black and Ben (I’m in 1,048 comdeys) stiller. Downy realizing that this roll might get his ass kicked while driving around Los Angeles said this,
“Downey Jr told a US magazine: “If it’s done right, it could be the type of role you called Peter Sellers to do 35 years ago. If you don’t do it right, we’re going to hell.”

Sonic Youth co-vocalist Thurston Moore has scored the soundtrack to an amateur porno directed by Richard Kern titled, “Extra Action (And Extra Hardcore)“. The film itself isn’t so much an all-out porno as it is an “artsy adult film.”
The pairing of Moore and Kern shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to Sonic Youth fans, as Kern has directed two videos for the band: “Death Valley 69,” and “Scooter and Jinx” (both of which can be viewed below). The cover of Evol was also taken from the film, “Submit to Me Now” by Kern.
The film itself has been described as the result of what happens when Kern tells his “unpretentious, unadorned, and definitely undressed” actresses to “roll around and do something interesting for a few minutes.”

Theres this movie floating around the internet lately that has most likely managed to piss off every single person who took the time to watch it. I felt it was well worth the time taken because it made me think, hard. Such a film offering alternate perspectives and identifying obvious problems is definitely a touchy subject and frightens lots of people away. I just saw this the other night, and it blew my mind to pieces. I showed it to a few people. Some kept an open mind, others did nothing short of shoving their fingers in their ears walking away saying “La lala lalalala.” For better or worse, Zeitgeist, The Movie will totally punch you in the balls.
