Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine has launched his own blend of coffee.
The coffee is organically grown by small-scale farmers and was “personally selected” by Mustaine himself. According to Mustaine, “This is the coffee that gets me up in the morning and keeps me shreddin’ all day long.”
An autographed bag of the coffee will set you back $39.99.
NOT METAL.

Maybe they hit the road a lot, but when you rock as hard as The Sword do, you’ve got no choice. America’s favorite metal band will be hitting the road starting this week, so if you live anywhere between Austin, TX and the east coast, get ready. And if you’re a pot dealer, this would be a good time to stock up.
West coast fans may feel snubbed (I do), but I’ve been reassured that west coast dates are soon to follow. Dates after the jump. (more…)

Most well known for howling out the anthemic pop-metal chorus of Quiet Riot’s biggest hit “Cum on Feel the Noize,” Kevin DuBrow was found dead in his Las Vegas home on Sunday, Nov. 25th.
Though the group is seen as something of a footnote in music history, Quiet Riot is one of the group’s that helped popularize the sound that made group’s like Poison and Motley Crue into gluttonous rock gods.
DuBrow was unmarried and never had children. His cause of death, according to Nevada’s Clark County Coroner Samantha Charles, is still under investigation. More info here at NYTimes.com.

If you’re in a band, and it’s not High on Fire, you might want to give it up. After taking the Metal to Europe with Pelican, High on Fire is going to come back to the States and hit the road again this winter with Archons, Intronaut and Rwake. Dates (US and European) after the jump. (more…)

I never played V:tM or anything, but when no one’s looking, I like listen to female-fronted Euro prog/goth metal. I’m not sure if I really like it, but I like to listen to it. Maybe it’s all the pomp and circumstance, or the beautiful women in corsets, or because when I was in high school, I used to read Tolkien and Anne Rice novels in the library instead of eating lunch in the cafeteria.
This is getting embarrassing.
Uh…yeah… After Forever are from Holland. And now they’re coming to the US and Canada for the first time. Here are the tour dates and videos, after the jump. (more…)

We haven’t mentioned our good friends at The Sword in a while, but like a dragon awakening from an eon-long slumber, the stoner rock quartet is ready to once again ravage the countryside. The Sword is taking a short break from writing their new record to play The Wall of Sound Festival along with Explosions in the Sky, Midlake, Pinback, Ghostland Observatory and many others. If you’re in the Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex on Sept. 22nd (tomorrow!), don’t pass this up. 40 bands on three stages for just $30. Tickets available here
