Seriously? They couldn’t think of anyone a little more deserving? Guess not because Vegas club Prive will be presenting Britney’s ex with the honor at a blowout private ceremony and party.

Kevin Federline is the father of four kids; 2 with ex Shar Jackson and 2 with ex Britney Spears. Federline is hosting a party at Prive, in the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, where he will be named “Father Of The Year” on June 13th. Any good dad would spend Father’s Day at a Vegas nightclub without their kids, right?

Yves Behar, famous for inventing the Bluetooth Jawbone design and other gadgets, has created a water for kids that could potentially change the bottle water for kids market. Y Water gives options of four different kinds of water, including Muscle, Brain, Immune and Bone drinks.

The bottles are visually stimulating as well as 100% organic, being made of material that is biodegradable, as well as reuseable for entertainment purposes. Children are encouraged to build “Y Knots” out of the bottles, to further their own creativity.

White Men Can’t Jump, but a recent report shows Black Kids Can’t Swim:

Nearly 60 percent of African-American children can’t swim, almost twice the figure for white children, according to a first-of-its-kind survey. Stark statistics underlie the initiative by the national governing body for swimming. Black children drown at a rate almost three times the overall rate. And less than 2 percent of USA Swimming’s nearly 252,000 members who swim competitively year-round are black.

Of course, like many of the societal ills facing the African American community, not being able to swim has its roots in America’s racist past:

The minority swimming gap has deep roots in America’s racial history. For decades during the 20th century, many pools were segregated, and relatively few were built to serve black communities.

John Cruzat, USA Swimming’s diversity specialist, said these inequalities were compounded by a widespread misperception—fueled by flawed academic studies—that blacks’ swimming ability was compromised by an innate deficit of buoyancy.

“There are people who still give credence to these stereotypes, even in the black and Hispanic community,” said Cruzat, who wants to break the cycle that passes negative attitudes about swimming from one black generation to another.

Mexican emo kids apparently have something to cry about, as they have been victimized by a bizarre wave of emo-bashings, inspired in part by a popular TV personality’s on-air anti-emo tirade. From LA Weekly blogger Daniel Hernandez:

In Mexico, emo culture is a butt of many jokes. It is either despised intensely or generally ignored. But it’s only the despising sentiment that lately has been getting wide airply. In the above clip, a Televisa on-air personality named Kristoff expresses a serious dose of anti-emo rhetoric and switches to English to say, on network television, “Fucking bullshit” to the emo movement. Some emos I’ve interviewed point to the Kristoff clip as a defining provocation of the current wave of anti-emo violence.

The aggressors responsible for emo attacks in Mexico City, Queretaro and elsewhere come from different subcultures, with differing reasons for their shared hate:

Anger against the emos has come from many quarters: punks and goths who think emos are ripping off their culture, homophobes who don’t find emos masculine enough, and those who simply seem threatened by a group that is so different than the mainstream.

But Mexican emos aren’t taking this shit lying down. They’ve organized marches and protests to bring attention to their plight:

Emos have begun to fight back, organizing marches in Guadalajara and Mexico City. And voices have begun appearing warning of a creeping intolerance in Mexican society. Gilberto Rincan Gallardo, a columnist for the El Porvenir newspaper, argued this week that tolerance is the foundation of any healthy democracy. “If a group of young people like (emos) decides to get together and live life in a certain manner, and doesn’t hurt others, it’s the obligation of the Democratic state to protect them…It’s easy for an eccentric and easily identified minority group to be stigmatized and discriminated against…It’s the responsibility of the authorities to make sure the threats aren’t carried out and the aggressions are punished.”

So today there was yet another headline about Barry Bonds never-ending steroid saga, this time about OMG THE TESTIMONY WILL BE UNSEALED. First off, who fucking gives a shit anymore? Everyone who’s not a dipshit knows basically any baseball player worth a shit over the last 15 years has probably tried steroids at least once, if not taken them for some length of time. And you know what, it doesn’t make really any difference. If kids are stupid enough to take steroids because they want to be like Barry Bonds then back zits and small testicles are the least of their problems. At least they’ll be better at baseball, which is probably all their ultra-competitive, vicariously living parents really care about in the first place. The only thing I can hope is that kids who idolize Barry Bonds will NEVER EVER mismatch their blacks in such an unashamed fashion and wear as stupid looking of a hat as Bonds did in the file photo that accompanied today’s story. That shit is just unforgivable. And what’s up with that chain? That some shit some frat dude at Hard Rock Cafe would be rocking. Dude made like $30 million a year and he can’t afford some real bling? Steroids aren’t that expensive man.
