Gay Thug Dating

I was really close to posting some real news, but luckily I came across this awesome site.

Have you ever had the urge to find hot young gay thugs, but just don’t know where to look? Yea, so have I. Gay Thug Dating.com has came to the rescue for all of us hardcore gangbangers who are in search of a same sex companion. Working as a gay eHarmony, the website offers free membership, and boasts itsself under the title “The #1 Gay Thug Community on the Net”. While I don’t think that honor has been given to them officially, I’m sure they have the market pretty much covered.

  • No Kissing At Safeco Field

Sirbrina Guerrero, a contestant on Tila Tequila’s “A Shot At Love” MTV reality show, was told by an usher at a Seattle Mariners game to stop smooching. Guerrero was at Safeco Park with her date when an usher approached them and told them to stop showing affection because it was making another fan feel uncomfortable. This incident has created quite a debate over PDA in Seattle, a generally gay-friendly city.

The Mariners were playing the Red Sox when the couple received the complaint during the third inning. A parent nearby explained to the usher that she didn’t want to have to explain the situation to her children. The woman felt that there were too many kids in the crowd to have to explain why two women were kissing.

Guerrero feels angered by the situation because heterosexual couples a few rows below them were making out during the game and she just wanted to be able to show some affection. Mariners spokespeople say the complaints were of groping, which is not tolerated if making others uncomfortable. This is measured by what a “reasonable” person would find inappropriate. Guerrero and her date said they were only sharing food and brief kisses.

This may start a “kiss-in” to protest against the Mariners, suggested by sex columnist Dan Savage. This is a move towards eliminating homophobia in sports and activists want to put a stop to the double standard.

    Bibliophile 6/3/08: Film Adaptations

[The following was written by Synthesis Weekly columnist Emilie Clark. She can be reached at emilie@synthesis.net.]

    Coming Soon

It’s a well-known fact that people like to adapt movies from books. It’s also a well-known fact that most of these efforts suck. So it’s my job to warn you about upcoming adaptations so you have ample time to read the book. This gives you the chance to complain about inconsistencies and general “suckiness” while still in the theater, making you look learned and therefore more attractive. You can thank me later.

Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson, July 4th: This is a documentary, so I guess it won’t really do to get mad about liberties taken with the adaptation. But it can’t hurt to read some of the famous Gonzo’s work if only for your own amusement. From the description it seems like the filmmakers are big fans, which can be bad in a documentary if you’re trying to eek out truth. The gist I get is that the point the film makes is that Thompson did what journalists are too afraid to do nowadays, namely get high and write caustic things about politicians. This may be true, but I easily tire of ‘60s and ‘70s nostalgia. Sure people were a bit crazier back then and I’m sure there are things to be learned from that era, but it’s over, so deal.

Journey To the Center of the Earth 3D, July 11th: Based on the classic Jules Verne novel about a rogue scientist who travels to, you guessed it, the center of the earth. According to Wikipedia, this novel didn’t age as well as some of Verne’s other works, because he was mostly wrong about what is contained in the center of the earth. However, none of that really matters because this movie is in 3D. And I will watch anything in 3D, even if it stars Brendan Fraser.

more upcoming adaptations after the jump.

  • What a surprise. The highly-evolved (insert sarcasm here) folks at Westboro Baptist Church wish Heath Ledger a wonderful eternity IN HELL!
