Who Wastes Their Time Doing This?

Google Trends is usually pretty helpful in finding out what topics of the day are the most searched and popular. Last week the swastika was a hot trend but it turns out we were all lied to. Hackers are manipulating Google Trends so offensive words show up as hot trends. The swastika was first, now the words “fuck you google” flipped backwards to get through a spam filter. And I thought some white supremacist creepers were teaming up to take down the internet or something.

Is The New iPhone Out Yet?

I cannot wait. I’m going to get my hands on one of those new puppies asap. I’m not the only one, either. Several people in this office have been complaining about their phones sucking lately, enough to make me suspicious of Apple for some kind of iPhone conspiracy. Maybe Steve Jobs hired some secret team of geniuses to hack the mobile signals from the satellites or some shit because everyone’s phones here keep randomly shutting off. I, myself, have been without a working cell phone for like 5 days now because my charger has mysteriously disappeared. Damn gnomes.

I’m not even going to buy a new charger. I’m re-virginizing myself until the day I get my iPhone and we spend our first night together, touching buttons and exploring all its bells and whistles. Damn, I just checked and I guess it’s not going to be available until July 11th. Wahhh!!!!!!!!

FairUse4M DRM Cracked Again

Microsoft keeps patching it and hackers keep hacking it. Microsoft’s Digital Rights Management just got cracked again in the age old DRM battle (although I guess it’s not really “age old” since this hasn’t really been going on for that long). Word has it that the new version of FairUse4M (which is apparently really called FairUse4WM, v1.3 Fix 2 if you wanna get technical) even features a drag and drop interface to make things even more user friendly. No need for that XP and Windows Media Player 10 with that subscription music service - at least until they repatch it again which will probably happen by Thursday or something…
FairUse4WM works only on Windows Media DRM 10 and DRM 11 and at least according the board that states

“This program is ONLY designed and intended to enable fair-use rights to PURCHASED media.
- While I haven’t been able to support license expiration/rental detection, please don’t use this to abuse rental license
- This code does NOT allow import of KID/SID pairs to preclude its use for piracy”

So, in a nutshell the program will strip the DRM from any PlaysForSure file, whether you’ve purchased or just rented the song.
