The upcoming “Music” title for Wii has a lot of promise. Now, if they can license some music besides classic Nintendo tunes, Rock Band and Guitar Hero will be in serious trouble…

From BBC:

The company did unveil a Grand Theft Auto game in development for the DS console and a new Wii title, called Music, which sees gamers play more than 50 musical instruments by using the Wiimote motion-sensitive controller. Mr Iwata said the success of the Wii and the DS was proof of a new form of social interaction developing. He said: “I believe we must find more ways for players to feel engaged, different ways for them to be enriched. The overall experience from our products must be increased enthusiasm.”

If you were at all ambivalent before, I bet you love your Civic these days, what with the current (and ever increasing) cost of gasoline.

You know who else really loves your Civic? Car thieves. In fact, if you drove your 1995 Honda Civic to work today you might want to go check the parking lot. The National Insurance Crime Bureau listed the ‘95 Civic as the nation’s most stolen vehicle in its annual “Hot Wheels” report..

This is the second year in a row that the Civic has claimed such honors, and fourth year in a row the Civic has appeared in the Top 10.

This post makes me wanna play Grand Theft Auto soooo bad.

(Oh wait, I just might.)

  • GTA IV Makes A Killing

It’s been 5 days since GTA IV came out and Rockstar has already sold 6 million copies of the game, beating out Halo 3’s launch week. 4 million people bought it the day it came out, which happened to be the 16th anniversary of the LA Riots. The game has generated $390 million. Violent video games are AWESOME!!!!11

L.A. Riots and Grand Theft Auto 4

Pour out some of your 40 ounce for the 16th anniversary of the L.A. Riots and drink up in celebration of the release of Grand Theft Auto 4. Coincidence? I think not.

Sony caught a lot of flack for its over-hyped but utterly disappointing Playstation 3 launch. The Playstation has been the king of the console hill for the past two generations, but poor reviews and little game selection has seen the third gen Playstation struggle to compete with its peers. But Sony’s not going to go down without a fight, especially to something with a name like “Wii”. Sony and Rockstar Games, creators of the Grand Theft Auto series, have signed and exclusive deal for the controversial video game companies “next great franchise.” As Sony’s Michael Shorrock on the PlayStation blog:

“Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of Cell and Blu-ray disc.”

Good news for Sony fans (and their stockholders), but really, you can keep all that wannabe gangsta bullshit. I’m just counting the days till Final Fantasy XIII.
