Faux News host Sean Hannity is just another member of the Fox hate machine. At first I honored his right to speak about his warped view of the world, realizing a logical person simply will brush him off as just another talking head. But what scares me now about Hannity and Fox, is an underlining hate or mis-representation of anyone that is not white or Male. Of course the easiest response to me is that I only see this because I’m a crazy liberal, but the truth is I’m a concerned Jewish American who can see a trend and a series of facts with Fox. It’s obvious that Fox and Hannity are no more than a propaganda machine designed to incite past racial hatred and unrest, this in a time when were ready to overcome such things. One example, of many, is the recent revelation of Sean Hannitys hate connection. Hannity has denied his affiliation with neo/nazi and white supremacists Hal Turner. But Turner describes it differently, Hal used to call Hannitys radio show and they began an on air and eventually an off air relationship. Turner writes

I was quite disappointed when Sean Hannity at first tried to say he didn’t know me and then went on to say that I ran some senate campaign in New Jersey. In fact, Sean Hannity does know me and we were quite friendly a number of years ago.…When Hannity took over Bob Grant’s spot on 77 WABC in New York City, I was a well-known, regular and welcome caller to his show. Through those calls, Sean and I got to know each other a bit and at some point, I can’t remember exactly when, Sean gave me the secret “Guest call-in number” at WABC so that my calls could always get on the air.

When I utlized that call-in number, Sean would very often come onto that line during commercial breaks so we could chat before I went on the air. Our off-the-air chats grew to an exchange of other phone numbers, me giving Sean my home and cellular number and Sean giving me his direct dial-in number at Fox News channel.

In 1993, My wife got pregnant and around a month later, Sean reported that he and his wife were expecting their first child. We got to talking about things expectant dads talk about and the relationship grew.

…Over the course of the next three or four years, Sean and I spoke regularly off the air about our kids, politics and news of the day. My on-air calls to his show remained regular and welcome

    Two racists in a pod

Turners views and hate are beyond my tolerance, and I encourage you to read his blog for yourself . If Hannity and others want to practice their racism they should not have a forum to do so. They can say anything they want and affiliate themselves with any kind of hate group on their own time with no forum. Not on a channel that has the tittle of “news”.

    Checking in on the World

    Hey look, more shitty news!

While we would NEVER, EVER discount the importance of celerity death news, jewelry designs and new albums being released, here are a few things going on in the world RIGHT NOW.

Burmese pro-democracy activists are being charged for the demonstrations that occurred last August.

This includes: being charged for making illegal statements (the government is declining to state what they supposedly said); not being able to meet with their lawyers; the trial will be held at a Rangoon prison where they ave been held since capture (convenient, innit?); 700 people are still being held by Burma’s government; at least 31 peaceful protesters were murdered by government troops.

Syrian pro-democracy dissident and former MP Riad Seif is being charged for harming Syria’s image.

This includes: attending a meeting for pro-democratic reform; he is the 11th person to be arrested who attended the pro-democracy meeting in December; Seif had already been banned from leaving the country to treat his prostrate cancer; one of the charges is “belonging to a secret organisation seeking to alter the social and economic base of the state”.

Temporary housing used to shelter Hurricane Katrina and Rita victims may pose health risks.
This includes: tens of thousands of hurricane victims still in temporary housing; FEMA ignored documents on dangers of prolonged exposure to formaldehyde; FEMA supressed warnings from its field workers about the future risks and current health problems being experienced by the victims; over 40,000 trailers are still being used as housing.

yay. now go about yoru business. I hear that Gwen Stefani is preggers, and Britney is crying and hanging out with her paparazzi buddies

  • An Arbitrary Composition

Let me preclude this blog by stating explicitly that I watch way too much television. I know that it is detrimental to my general level of intelligence, but I just can’t help myself. So, the very much arbitrary (hence the title) notion struck me to give some suggestions as to what you may want to catch this season on the good ol’ boob tube. My proposed daily itinerary is as follows:

Mon: 11:30PM the Boondocks: This show dabbles in Manga-style animation and has the likes of John Witherspoon, Samuel L. Jackson, Charlie Murphy, and Regina King lending their comedic and vocal talent. It’s like “Word, ya know whatt’a mean?”

Tues: This day can be completely free from television. Go out and kick around some leaves or something.

Wed: South Park at 10:00PM. I feel secure that you all know what South Park is about. What kind of person couldn’t find at least some enjoyment in the “Imagination Land” trilogy?

Thurs: Thursday is a fine day for vegging in front of the blessed television screen. The Office airs at 9Pm on NBC, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia airs at 10PM on FX. Watch them both, and, trust me, you will be entertained.

Fri: What? You would actually watch T.V. on a Friday night? What a loser you are. Just kidding, having a life is overrated. I guess you could watch Deal or No Deal on NBC, if you have a thing for Bob Saget, or are for some other reason so inclined.

Sat: What else but NBC’s Saturday Night Live? See, it’s completely legit to stay in Saturday night, it is in no way comparable to staying in on a Friday.

Sun: At least a fraction of your “day of rest” could befittingly include watching a cartoon or two (or three, or four, or five). Although there is often some variation regarding show times, (and interference from those pesky athletic events), you can usually catch a chain of animated hilarity starting at 7:30PM on FOX that includes episodes of King of the Hill, the Simpsons, Family Guy and American Dad. The entertainment doesn’t cease there. Metalocalypse, Robot Chicken, and Lucy the Daughter of the Devil also air on Sunday night, starting at 11:30PM.

*It should also be noted that Late Night with Conan O’Brien is an excellent show that can be caught Monday through Friday on NBC at 12:37PM.

So, there you have it. Mind-numbingly awesome entertainment just waiting for you to take advantage. Life is good, no?

yeah, morning shows are banal and Wayne seems to work his charm. THe best part, however, comes in at a little after 6 minutes when he gets up to effectively fib about the weather.

  • 9/11 Mystery Plane

    911.jpg

Among the forgotten details of 9/11, is the mysterious white jet filmed circling over the White House as reported by news outlets such as CNN and FOX who had reporters on the ground. Who was in this jet, and more importantly what were they doing? And I guess most important of all, why do I care?? It’s a Monday and I’m bored, that’s why.
