Pop Your Tops

Pop topping is the art of using soda can tabs to create fashionable clothing, handbags, belts and other accessories. This is a good way to save the environment and do your part. It is a good way to recycle and reuse so next time your killin a 30 pack with your friends, save the pop tops! The bags are my favorite but there’s plenty of other items you can make with those lil suckers. Check out this Web site for more pop top items or get creative and make yer own! Just like in middle school when you would try and collect more than your friends and wear em around your neck.. except this stuff is actually cute. Here are just some of the innovative ideas:

  • Heidi Montag At It Again

After David Letterman totally bashed Spencer Pratt I thought and hoped that maybe Spencer and Heidi would go away for awhile. A LONG while. But my dreams were crushed when Heidiwood, her new clothing line came out. I mean really? Who would want to look like that girl after her romp on the beach in that terrible music video, the skimpy bikini and the bad boob job? Heidiwood is an Anchor Blue line sold at Wet Seal. It’s pretty boring and cheap looking if you ask me and has some hideous animal prints. Bad designs all around. Who does she think she is, Lauren Conrad? Maybe she should actually go to fashion school and not just use her crappy “celebrity” status. At least she has one fan! .. Spencer Pratt the douche-iest man in Hollywood!

P.S. Your boyfriend is a MAJOR tool.

Here’s an example of Heidiwood. Hookers get fitted!

    Designer Yves Saint Laurent Dies

The fashion world is mourning the death of iconic Paris designer, Yves Saint Laurent. He defined how modern women dressed with his elegant styles. Saint Laurent died following a long-term illness at 71. He is said to be the last of a legendary generation of designers, including Christian Dior and Coco Chanel, who made Paris the fashion capital of the world.

Saint Laurent was named most influential and enduring designer of his time in the world of haute couture. He was also able to touch every part of the fashion industry with his iconic pieces and by delivering this high level of dress to the masses. He was recognized at the young age of 17 for a cocktail dress design. Saint Laurent then enrolled in school for a short period of time and was immediately hired by Dior. When Dior died, Saint Laurent was put in charge of the House of Dior at 21.

He empowered women and gave them confidence. He left his mark in the world of fashion forever and will be missed.

Today, Synthesis’ Band You’ve Never Heard of Band of the Day will stray a little bit into the electro side of the rock spectrum. And by “a little bit” I mean entirely. Boston electro-rock duo Matters & Dunaway meet at the mid-point where pleather-clad ravers chat Matrix post-apocalyptic fashion and The Faint still mattered. Their is the sound of a not to distant future that was realized in the last decade, with neon-lit tubes blurring by at chemically enhanced speeds. Their new EP, Feel The Future, is available now via iTunes and Amazon.

Matters and Dunaway - Feel The Future
    Streetdate May 20, 2008

Matters & Dunaway were last heard in late 2004 fusing ambient electronic with intricate rock rhythms straddling a line between melancholy and euphoria. Since that time, the duo from Boston, MA have been honing their unique blend of tech-rock into a more compressed, aggressive sound. Feel the Future is saturated with bursting cymbals, darting bass lines and revving synthesizers.
