I’m not going to bore you with the details of coming from an ethnic minority and trying to find its delicacies on short notice in a small town. With that said, trying to find a loaf of challah (bread) on Erev Rosh Hashanah (Jewish New Year’s Eve) in white bread-ass Chico is next to impossible.

Luckily for me we have both a food columnist and general “doer of stuff” in house, and both were willing to get on the phone and make some calls. It looked like a real news room in the Synthesis office for a second. “I need LEADS, people!”

Happy new year blogosphere.

  • Rene, our in-office doer of stuff (that’s her official title), is pretty much more of a badass than anyone in this place. On the strength of her recommendation, i am posting this YouTube clip WITHOUT EVEN SEEING IT FIRST. Could be a waterfall, could be porn. I JUST DON’T KNOW! It probably has somethign to do with this.
