Coheed and Cambria are on some other shit.

NEVERENDER is an event created by the band in which this progressive rock juggernaut will, for the first time ever, perform live over four nights all four of their concept records in their entirety. The albums will be played in order from beginning to end. Each night’s production will be specifically catered to the record being performed. Tickets for the shows go on sale on Friday July 18 at 1pm EST through Ticketmaster. A special, limited VIP package will be offered via the band’s ticket site. The package includes tickets for all four nights, early entry to the shows, a VIP laminate, an intimate acoustic performance, an exclusive poster and a meet and greet with the band. These tickets go on sale Tuesday, July 15 at 1pm EST. The full NEVERENDER itinerary is below.

“NEVERENDER came about because the band wanted to celebrate the end of the Coheed and Cambria saga in a special way,” says Coheed frontman Claudio Sanchez. “We wanted to come up with an idea that paid proper respect to this phase of our career, while at the same time gave our fans something truly unique and different. Many of these songs have never been played in front of an audience before so I think we’re going to be freaking out at the same time our fans are. It’s going to be a major challenge. We’re psyched our fans have been so loyal and amazing. We figured they deserved this.”

NEVERENDER is the culmination of 10 months of touring the world (including a month of US arena dates opening for Linkin Park this past winter) in support of the band’s latest record, No World for Tomorrow. The record represents the final chapter of The Amory Wars, the brutally tragic sci-fi tale of Coheed and Cambria Kilgannon and their family, a story that wraps all of the band’s concept albums into one.

“We’re really looking forward to going deep and revisiting not only the songs, but also the story,” Sanchez offers. “Interestingly enough, us going over all the old material seems to be influencing our writing of the next record, which we’re sort of doing simultaneously. And to me, that seems appropro since the next story is the prequel to The Amory Wars.”

Just when you thought Coheed and Cambria couldn’t appeal more to nerdy teens and grown men living in their parent’s basement, comes this:

In an unprecedented move, FEARnet, the world’s premier destination for horror film enthusiasts, is set to become the exclusive host of the director’s cut of the infamous Coheed and Cambria video for their current single, “Feathers,” today, May 21. The Hitchcockian black and white video, is a dark comedy, directed by Marc Klasfeld (Gnarls Barkley, Foo Fighters, Bloodhound Gang) and focuses on a “perfect” 1950s American family who have a very naughty secret. “Feathers” stars Rena Riffel, known for her roles in “Mulholland Drive” and “Dante’s Cove,” as the cheerful stay-at-home mom ala “Ozzie and Harriet,” but this mom has more than a conniving grin. Reminiscent of the works of David Lynch and John Waters, what appears normal on the surface is not quite so when you take a closer look. Klasfeld’s cut contains mildly graphic scenes that were not in the MTV version of the video.

Check out the making of the video below, if you’re so inclined:

During last night’s date of the Coheed and Cambria / Madina Lake / Circa Survive UK tour in Brixton, some building drama between headliners Coheed and support band Madina Lake apparently boiled over into fisticuffs, when a member of Madina Lake’s crew was apparently served in the middle of the band’s set by Coheed’s TM. From the band’s Myspace blog:

hey guys, it’s important to us that you know this. what happened had nothing to with balloons, confetti, how we were treated or anything like that. the tour manager of coheed physically attacked a member of our family, right there on stage in front of everyone. our dude was trying to do his job and this guy grabbed him and punched him in the face on stage in front of 5k people right in the middle of a song. fan, friend, enemy…it doesn’t matter…i’m sure you can all agree that you would defend your family if they were assaulted right in front of you, completely unprovoked. we want this to blow over as much as you guys so we won’t sit here and whine about the other shit (we never did and never will).. here’s to you and your support and how much we love you all .. cheers bitches.

You can see a bit of the action towards the end of this video off to the right of the screen:

UPDATE: The plot thickens. According to the chatter on the venerable Absolutepunk.net, the Coheed camp’s side of the story is a little different. It goes thusly:

“So, about halfway through the tour, ML was asked kindly to stop using confetti-filled balloons onstage so that the stage would not be a confetti and water covered disaster area for Coheed’s set. A simple enough request, but ML continued to use the balloons for every night after that. Before the show that all this happened at, there was a big meeting with all the bands, the tour managers, and the Kerrang manager. The agreement was that ML has GOT to stop using the balloons, and they agreed to that.

But, before their set, someone found 20 or so filled balloons that they had hidden away so no one would find them. This made Claudio very mad, because it was a simple request that they even agreed to honor. So he went and popped all of the balloons beforehand with a pen so they couldn’t use those and had no time to fill more.

This made ML angry. So they were dissing Coheed onstage. And then one of ML’s guitar techs comes out with a big box of confetti to dump over everything. One of Coheed’s techs sees this and grabs him in an attempt to stop him. When ML sees this, the band comes over to Coheed’s tech and beat him with their own instruments.”

    DAMN.
