Capitol Music Group decided making a virtual nightclub, The Tower, is a good idea. The Tower can be found at There.com and is an “exclusive” virtual nightclub environment. How exactly is an online club exclusive? Fans will be able to meet, talk with and watch videos from Capitol Music Group artists because going to see your favorite artist may just be a little too strenuous?
The nightclub has officially opened in There.com and kicked off with an appearance from rapper, MIMS. Other artists scheduled are: The Beastie Boys, Lily Allen, Yellowcard and Korn. Artists answer questions, virtually hang out with fans and give information on tours and albums.
The part I found the weirdest is that members can purchase virtual merchandise. I guess this takes the place of a dress code? So I’m sure half the people in the “nightclub” will be old men sitting there in their underwear instead of actually going outside to a REAL club. It’s supposed to give members self-expression. T-shirts and hoodies are available for your avatar and posters can be bought to decorate your virtual house or hangout. Spending money on virtual items I’ll never actually have my hands on seems a little odd to me but it’s whateva.

Simpsons Movie hype is building up. Check out their Web site for a few fun time wasters. You can play a few decent games, watch some trailers, take virtual tours of your favorite Springfield locations (most of them “coming soon”) and more interestingly, create your own Simpsons avatar:

Not a bad likeness. Watch out, according to Moe’s Love Tester, I’m a “Cassanova.”
gggrrrrrrr…..
In other news, it’s been over two hours since I uploaded a picture on Simpsonize Me , Burger King’s Simpson’s Avatar. It’s still loading…
