Amy Winehouse’s trial date for a drug possession charge in Norway was postponed this week until further notice.

Super cool Blake Fielder-Civil (Winehouse’s husband who is also involved in the case) can’t make the trip since he’s currently sitting in a jail cell in Britain on assault and bribery related charges.
Anne Vedvik of the Bergen courthouse said Winehouse had been due to appear on Friday and “The hearing has therefore been postponed to an undetermined date.”
Winehouse was arrested at their hotel with her husband and her hairdresser in Norway last October after they were caught with marijuana in their possession. She was later released after paying a 500-euro fine. Interestingly enough, agreeing to pay a fine in Norway is the equivalent of admitting to the charges. This also makes it somewhat difficult
to obtain visas in the future - which is probably why she ran into trouble for the Grammy’s last week.
We here at Synthesis really hope she pulls herself together

Dog the Bounty Hunter has had a tough couple of months, what with the whole racists rant caught on tape and sold to the National Enquirer and its fallout. BTW, check out that link for a DT blog and subsequent comment thread containing whole bunch of the worst people on the internet saying bad hurtful words, and a whole bunch of people standing up for morals and decency rebuking them with bad hurtful words. (ah, teh internets.)
Well, the person responsible for leaking the conversation, his son Tucker Chapman has gotten himself into hot water as well by violating his parole.
From the Hawaii Star Bulletin:
The alleged violations include drug use, association with a felon, failing to inform the parole officer that he had contact with a police officer and failure to follow the police officer’s instructions…
Too bad he didn’t go on the lamb - that would have made for a great episode of Dog’s show.
Speaking of, Duane Dog has reportedly resumed filming episodes for the next season of his show, though A&E has yet to announce the air-dates for his return. They must be waiting for the nation to forget about his tirade and the pig-eyed idiocy squirming under the slim greasy surface of his mullet. Shithead.

While we would NEVER, EVER discount the importance of celerity death news, jewelry designs and new albums being released, here are a few things going on in the world RIGHT NOW.
Burmese pro-democracy activists are being charged for the demonstrations that occurred last August.
This includes: being charged for making illegal statements (the government is declining to state what they supposedly said); not being able to meet with their lawyers; the trial will be held at a Rangoon prison where they ave been held since capture (convenient, innit?); 700 people are still being held by Burma’s government; at least 31 peaceful protesters were murdered by government troops.
Syrian pro-democracy dissident and former MP Riad Seif is being charged for harming Syria’s image.
This includes: attending a meeting for pro-democratic reform; he is the 11th person to be arrested who attended the pro-democracy meeting in December; Seif had already been banned from leaving the country to treat his prostrate cancer; one of the charges is “belonging to a secret organisation seeking to alter the social and economic base of the state”.
Temporary housing used to shelter Hurricane Katrina and Rita victims may pose health risks.
This includes: tens of thousands of hurricane victims still in temporary housing; FEMA ignored documents on dangers of prolonged exposure to formaldehyde; FEMA supressed warnings from its field workers about the future risks and current health problems being experienced by the victims; over 40,000 trailers are still being used as housing.
yay. now go about yoru business. I hear that Gwen Stefani is preggers, and Britney is crying and hanging out with her paparazzi buddies…

Proving there’s no such thing as bad press and that face and neck tattoos make for a killer mug shot, rapper Lil’ Wayne (born Dwayne Michael Carter) was arrested by border patrol at a US Border checkpoint on Interstate 8 in Dateland, AZ, on Tuesday night around 11:30 PM. Drug-sniffing dogs alerted officers that something might be afoot and Wayne’s bus, which was transporting 11 other people, was pulled aside for a consensual search.
Officers found:
Carter faces local possession charges (the feds passed on this one), and two other passengers are looking at narcotics charges. Wayne was released on bail, but has a court date set for Friday morning. In other news, his new album, The Carter III is due out in February.

Hi. I’m going to put “Amy Winehouse News Correspondent” as one of my job titles on my next business card. Okay, so, —the weirdest thing just happened— Amy Winehouse was arrested. Here’s what MSNBC says…
Singer Amy Winehouse was arrested Tuesday on suspicion of attempting to interfere with a court case involving her husband, Sky News reported.
Police would not confirm the report but said a 24-year-old was arrested during an appointment at a police station in connection with an investigation into perverting the course of justice.
Winehouse, 24, recently canceled all concerts and public appearances for the rest of the year on doctor’s orders. Her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, was ordered held in custody in London last month on charges of perverting the course of justice stemming from a case in which he is accused of assaulting a barman in June.
Fielder-Civil allegedly tried to interfere with a witness’ testimony, according to court documents.
Winehouse, an admitted marijuana smoker, has been dogged by reports of continued drug use amid a flurry of canceled concert dates. She was recently spotted walking outside of her London home wearing a bra and jeans, with no shoes, looking distressed.
The British singer received six Grammy Award nominations on Dec. 11 after months of personal problems that took the focus off her gritty, soulful music.
Hmmm. Is the girl even news worthy anymore? Didn’t everyone already assume she was in some sort of locked down facility? Are you saying “who cares?”? WELL I CARE! HOW THE HELL AM I GOING TO GET OVER MY NEXT BOYFRIEND WITHOUT HER NEXT ALBUM!??? I hope they give her some pens and paper in jail ’cause that girl better get to writing some shit down. Get to work, Winehouse!

Further news:
“It had been speculated that police might have an interest in any allegation about his wife’s potential involvement.”
Fielder-Civil, 25, and Michael Brown are accused of assaulting James King, the landlord of Macbeths public house in Hoxton, east London, on June 20 last year.
It is alleged that they later conspired to pervert the course of justice by offering Mr King a significant amount of money to withdraw his allegation and leave the country.

Remember in Trailer Park Boys when they decided to not get thrown in jail and instead do pretty crimes? A lot of petty crimes? Well, three crooks in Arizona had a similar notion…$29,000 in copper wire stolen from street lights. Just take another look at those guys up at the top and remember that the adage “Never trust a book by its cover” isn’t 100 percent accurate.

In other news, there’s nothing cool on Google Trends.
