It’s kind of a shame that the much buzzed about Giant Drag debut Hearts and Unicorns went absolutely nowhere. It seemed that the only people who got it were rock journalists, and it was sent to them for free. It’s a shame because it’s a really good band (though I guess it’s no longer a “band” as drummer/keyboardist Micah Calabrese has moved on).
Not to be discouraged by losing a label and her sole band member, Annie Hardy is moving forward regardless, and she’s hoping the band’s fans will help. The PayPal button is posted on the Giant Drag MySpace page in their blog.

I’ve never considered myself much of an icon, but now that I’ve gotten my picture taken by Dan Monick at the Blood is the New Black photo booth at the UNITED Trade Show in Vegas, things have changed. I’ve arrived, so deal with it. Dan’s also taken pictures of Annie Hardy from Giant Drag, Slug from Atmosphere and fellow gangsters, the dudes who worked the kitchen at the Alexis Park Hotel.

Thanks for the tuna salad sandwich and fries. To see pictures of people far more fashionable than the cooks and myself, look here.
