yeah, I’m not even going to pretend I know who Kendal Sheppard is because even if I did have cable, I wouldn’t watch MTV’s Road Rules. In fact, the entirety of Reality TV can suck it. However, I don’t mind looking at her picture for a second:

But really, anyone who submits themselves to reality TV gets exactly what they deserve. Such as a total douche shithead babby daddy. Let’s get a load of him, too.

What a bag! In an excellently played out move, Ms. Sheppard aired their dirty laundry and criticized her EX via….wait for it……wait for it…….
Her MYSPACE PAGE! Good move. Read all about it here. Or don’t because it’s a complete and utter waste of your time.
Maybe, in the end, they deserve each other. Either way, writing about this just lost me an IQ point.

This is an interesting view of Guns ‘N’ Roses right as they first blew up with Appetite For Destruction. Weird to watch… A definite hype spotlight from MTV…portrays them as playful. Really, at this point they were just bonehead, wasted 20 somethings. Axl wasn’t even strung out, neither Duff. Give this a watch. Definite head shakes and laughs; these guys were ridiculous characters no matter how you cut it.

Punk rock legends the Bad Brains are due for their first taste of MTV. Starting today, MTV will premier their newest series, “52/52,” which will showcase one unsigned or indie band a week for the next year straight. Each group is entitled to 11 hours of commercial free broadcast over the course of the given week, and New York’s own Bad Brains will get things rolling. With the critical acclaim of Bad Brains’ 2007 release–Adam Yauch produced Build A Nation–the group will be debuting a dual video for “Give Thanks And Praises” and “Jah Love.”
Build A Nation is a return to greatness for one of the all-time punk rock heavyweights, and I am certainly glad that Bad Brains is getting the chance to expose their music to a wider audience. But at the same time, I for one am very interested and skeptical in seeing what real chances MTV is willing to take with the 52/52 series. Because let’s face it, the Bad Brains fucking kick ass no matter how you slice it, and whether or not they make their mark on MTV means little to nothing in the scope of their legacy. But what about these other unsigned/indie bands? Will MTV step up to the plate and for once and provide programming relevant to the name of their station, “Music Television”? I will believe it when I see it. For now, long live Bad Brains.

While we would NEVER, EVER discount the importance of celerity death news, jewelry designs and new albums being released, here are a few things going on in the world RIGHT NOW.
Burmese pro-democracy activists are being charged for the demonstrations that occurred last August.
This includes: being charged for making illegal statements (the government is declining to state what they supposedly said); not being able to meet with their lawyers; the trial will be held at a Rangoon prison where they ave been held since capture (convenient, innit?); 700 people are still being held by Burma’s government; at least 31 peaceful protesters were murdered by government troops.
Syrian pro-democracy dissident and former MP Riad Seif is being charged for harming Syria’s image.
This includes: attending a meeting for pro-democratic reform; he is the 11th person to be arrested who attended the pro-democracy meeting in December; Seif had already been banned from leaving the country to treat his prostrate cancer; one of the charges is “belonging to a secret organisation seeking to alter the social and economic base of the state”.
Temporary housing used to shelter Hurricane Katrina and Rita victims may pose health risks.
This includes: tens of thousands of hurricane victims still in temporary housing; FEMA ignored documents on dangers of prolonged exposure to formaldehyde; FEMA supressed warnings from its field workers about the future risks and current health problems being experienced by the victims; over 40,000 trailers are still being used as housing.
yay. now go about yoru business. I hear that Gwen Stefani is preggers, and Britney is crying and hanging out with her paparazzi buddies…

I’m so pissed I don’t have cable anymore, you have no idea.
The second season of Making the Band 4 begins Monday, January 28th (there was a preview this past Saturday), and features Donnie Klang, the five dudes who won last time and, of course, OG Making the Band pioneers Danity Kane. I’m not sure what’s going on in this trailer, but it looks like a lot of premarital sex, macho posturing and self-loathing masked by binge drinking. I guess they’re all supposed to be making an album too. Together! But not together. Just at the same time, which sounds more like Diddy trying to save a buck than anything else.
I’m sure it’ll be as epic as the trailer’s background music. My only hope is that Aundrea manages to escape the whole affair unscathed.
You’d be in my prayers, if I did that sort of thing. After the jump is a list of dates when you can catch the show. Danity Kane’s new album is due out March 18th. The Making the Band album will come out one week prior. (more…)
