Slacker Uprising

Michael Moore will be releasing his new film online and for FREE! Who doesn’t love free stuff? Besides people who don’t take swag bags but that’s another story.

The film titled, “Slacker Uprising,” follows Moore through 62 different cities during the 2004 election in his attempts to rally young voters. Downloading will begin September 23 and will last for three weeks. Moore wants to give back to his fans for the 20th anniversary since his first film, “Roger & Me.”

“I thought it’d be a nice way to celebrate my 20th year of doing this,” Moore said. “And also help get out the vote for November. I’ve been thinking about what I want to do to help with the election this year.”

Moore said the film cost about $2 million to make and he will end up paying about $1 million out of pocket. To download for free, sign up at the Slacker Uprising Web site. A “Night of a Thousand House Parties” is planned for October 4th so neighborhood screenings, etc. can be planned. The DVD will still be released on October 7th.

Moore hopes the film will encourage more young people to vote this November so there are an even greater number of “slackers” at the poles.

Facebook: The Movie

Aaron Sorkin, screenwriter of Charlie Wilson’s War and The West Wing, is scripting a movie all about FACEBOOK and its formation. Weird.

Paramount Pictures wanted to keep the film on the down low but Sorkin leaked this information on his Facebook page, but of course.

Facebook was created in 2004 on the Harvard campus by sophomore student Mark Zuckerberg and has now grown to over 60 million members. Facebook is valued at $16 billion and big companies like Microsoft and Google have been in a bidding war over the company.

The movie will focus on how Zuckerberg and his associate’s lives have changed after becoming an overnight sensation. Sounds a little dry. I don’t think I could justify paying money to watch an entire movie about Facebook unless it was a long slideshow of extremely drunk people doing things (like driving the porcelain bus) that would embarrass their families, bosses and co-workers.

Donkey Punch

There’s a new movie opening in the UK this week titled Donkey Punch. Yes, the plot has to do with an actual donkey punch and from the trailer it looks like it kills the girl. Fox news is outraged by the donkey punch. Watch this trailer. Who would’ve thought you could make a mainstream film about this “act”?

Terminator 4

Just watched the new teaser trailer for Terminator 4 and it definitely looks more promising than Terminator 3 but that’s not saying much. At least Arnold is out and Christian Bale is in. Time for a change?

Is It True?!

After plenty of the Arrested Development cast members made the claim of a movie in the works, Jeffrey Tambor confirmed the rumor yesterday!

“After months of speculation, I think we have finally figured out for sure that we are indeed doing an Arrested Development movie,” Tambor told EW.com at the premiere of Hellboy II on Sunday. “I am very excited about that. I love that cast and crew and I felt like we had more to say.”

An Arrested Development movie? Could it be?!!

This coming September, Walt Disney is releasing what will ultimately be remembered as one of the worst movies to ever be made: Beverly Hills Chihuahua. This sassy little flick stars the voice of George Lopez as lead dog; holy crow! Check out this trailer because it’s all too real…
