Pony Pants from West Philadelphia
I found Pony Pants while booking my band’s tour, and was totally floored. Reminds me of a more aggressive Pinback, with sinister drum machine beats, plus some electro-clash with a punk edge and a pair of brother guitarists who probably own a couple of Maiden albums; it just makes me want to grind the couch something fierce. We didn’t end up hooking up a show with them, but they were super nice, and did i mention their music makes me wanna totally grind my couch?
Plus, they’re called Pony Pants, which is a super cute band name.

“You know all that money we spend on nuclear weapons and defense each year, trillions of dollars, correct? Instead — just play with this — if we spent that money feeding and clothing the poor of the world — and it would pay for it many times over, not one human being excluded — we can explore space together, both inner and outer, forever in peace.”
