It Ain’t That New Dog

Boston Police: -10 cred
Interference Inc.: -1000 cred

Adult Swim issued an apology within its white on black text bumpers tonight after the misunderstanding in Boston. Not too many people know, throwies aren’t something new to the game.

Throwies have been around for a minute, thanks to G.R.L., but exploiting innovative graffiti tactics for corporate guerrilla marketing just killed it. Good one Interference Inc..

How Fun It Is

What Killed It

Do you ever notice how corporate marketing has always tried to bust their way in to the youth and penetrate the “hip” crowds? How ironic the same people trying to be on the cutting edge and duplicating an evolved form of expression will have to probably pay millions in reparations because of their campaign.

How Ironic

The following video show is made by GOOD Magazine and takes viewers on a trip throughout NYC to expose how much advertisers pay to distract and embed their product in our minds.

Now I’m no political activist or conspiracy theorist, but did you know that business expenses are tax deductible? That means, out of all the millions of dollars for these crazy ads we see everywhere we go, none of it goes to the government to help pay for education, health care or even the anti-graffiti unit.

You tell me what the real vandalism is?

  • Yet Another Biter

I don’t know if its because people are finally waking up and noticing his amazing illustrations and style, but Mike Giant’s illustration has yet again been bitten. Though not from a large corporation as Synthesis’ last bitters post, this imitation is less than flattering. Apparently on Mathew McDonald’s portfolio web page, his ‘Art Director’ skills include directing where to find other people’s artwork and claim them as his own. I give it to McDonald though for his subliminal website title (as seen at the top of your browser when on his page) Chewy Lives!, which is very appropriate for the styles he chews on. Feel free to hit up Mathew McDonald via email, mcdonaldmc@gmail.com or phone, 804.543.2484 or you can hit up the real artists through his clothing line, REBEL 8.

  • Prodigy-H.N.I.C.

It’d been a minute since I pulled this one out, but after word of two new albums surfaced, and then the videos for “Mac 10 Handles” and “What’s Poppin Dun” popped up, I had to revisit Queens in all it’s Dunny greatness. H.N.I.C. is one of those jewels that kinda got lost in the shuffle, and was one of the last great joints to come out on Loud. There is something about P by himself that creates an even darker album, like he delves deeper into his personal demons. His paranoia and relentless nature shine through, and is void of any of the VI-P shit. So many dope joints on this one, from the classic “Keep It Thoro” to “Three” with Cormega, and “Veterans Memorial.” There are 62 of them new/used on amazon.com, so if your collection is without it, get to it kitko!

  • Black Milk, The Next Best Thing

Detroit MC/producer Black Milk is gearing up to make huge waves in the coming months. Responsible for producing joints for Slum Village, Proof and every other dope rapper from the D, Black Milk stepped out on his own in 2005 with his debut Sound Of The City. His follow-up, Popular Demand is set to drop March 13th through Fat Beats, and in my premature opinion will be one of the years best. I haven’t pressed rewind on an album this much in a minute, and I’m confident the general public will hear/feel the same. Check below for the first single “Sound The Alarm” w/ new Stones Throw artist but always been raw Guilty Simpson.

  • Harry Potter and The Old Fashioned Horsefuck

So Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe is all grown up and wants to prove it by showing his dong to theater goers. I wonder how many adolescent girls who grew up fantasizing about his heroic antics just panty splashed when they saw this photo, let alone how many will do so when he straight dangles his shit on stage? I wonder if dude has “the magic stick?”
