I was shopping at Trucker the other day, looking for new Jeffrey Campbells. My boyfriend offered to buy me some new shoes for being such a big girl about life, which is a guaranteed way to get yourself laid in my book. Then this AWESOME song came on. I asked the guy behind the counter who it was.
“MGMT - Electric Feel”.
The BF bought me some cute Jessica Simpson pumps that I’ll lovingly call “Electric Heels”. Now every time I hear MGMT, I want to throw them on with nothin’ but a feather boa and knock out some killer stripper moves. Here’s the remix of “Electric Feel” with Jim Jones:

The election inspired me to drink!!!
THE OBAMA MARTINI
1½ oz. Cîroc Vodka
¾ oz. pineapple juice
1 oz. cranberry juice
Splash of triple sec
Preparation: Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a wine glass.
THE MCCAIN MARTINI
1 oz. Cîroc Vodka
1 oz. Orange Juice
Splash of Ginger Ale
Preparation: Shake ingredients over ice and strain into a chilled martini glass.
The first drink will make you dream that you’re being trampled by a herd of elephants. The McCain martini will make you hee-haw like a donkey.

This would be far less funny if this wasn’t the realistic expectations of some people I know (thankfully, not that well) for the impending Barack Obama presidency .

Vice Presidential Debate 1988. Dan Quayle vs. Lloyd Bentsen. I could watch this on loop all day.

Our good friend and idol Anthony Green (Circa Survive, Saosin, Sounds of Animals Fighting, Moshtradamus, etc.) has just released his tour merch online, and it’s slick shit. I think I’mma shell out some of my Synthesis bucks on a cool new hoodie… or my PG&E bills. Probably the hoodie.

Here’s a little reference sheet for the results of California’s Propositions. I’m a tad pissed that chickens now have more rights than some of my friends, but Obama’s win is has put me in an endorphin induced haze so I’m temporarily over it.
Prop 1: High Speed Bullet Train- YES
We’re in the middle of a recession, and we decided to build a multi-billion dollar train. Great.
Prop 2: Chickens and Stuff- YES
I don’t know anything about livestock, but I do know that we’re going to be importing our eggs and chicken from Mexico. Goodbye tender chicken breasts, hellooooo salmonella.
Prop 3: Hospitals for the Kiddies- YES
I guess this is good, yet we’re still going to have to shell out some cash for it. Hell, better use of cash than building a rocket train, amiright?!
Prop 4: The Juno Bill- NO
This failed again, and with good reason. All we need is 16 year olds trying to vacuum their lil fetuses out of their bellies themselves. Leave that work to the professionals.
Prop 5: Non-Violent Crimes- NO
I should care less about this, but looking around my office I realize that 1/2 of these people will probably be in jail in the next year or so due to the ideas we throw around here (see Ryan Prado’s credit card scandal HERE).
Prop 6: Gang Crimes- NO
Again, doesn’t really pertain to most of us, minus here in Chico where the areas by the train tracks look more like Watts than suburbia.
Prop 7: Squeeky Clean Energy- NO
Although good in concept, I believe it would have actually furthered us from our goal of clean energy due to it’s restrictions… or at least that’s what the TV told me.
Prop 8: Gayest Proposition Yet- YES
*Sigh*Most liberal state in the country and we can’t let gay’s marry. At least the chickens got their proposition passed.
Prop 9: Victim’s Rights- YES
From what I’ve read, this didn’t do much considering it just reinforces laws already in place, and it has the ability to cost us millions… BUT IT’S STILL BETTER THAN A FUCKING BULLET TRAIN.
Prop 10: Green Cars and Stuff- NO
I don’t understand why people wouldn’t dig this, considering that within the next 10 years I imagine about 1/4 the cars on the road being eco-friendly… but hell, I get 8mpg.
Prop 11: Redistricting- MAYBE
Too close to call at this point. This really needs to pass, which would allow better redistricting and restrict certain governmental factors from applying their bias towards redistricting.
Prop 12: Support the Vets- YES
This is informally titled ‘Let’s Finally Give a Shit About War Heros’ act. Good thing this passed, considering our current system is pathetic. Bush’s plans to send them over, fuck their heads and bodies up and have them come back with no help plan really didn’t work out too well. It’s going to cost some money, but I guess there’s worse ways to spend it… LIKE BULLET TRAINS.
