Mail Goggles

We’ve all been there… You come home from the bars, you’re so drunk you pee’d on the dog, and you sit down on the computer. An AIM, e-mail or Myspace comment is found from an old girlfriend and immediately you’re ready to fire back with repressed emotions. No worries, Mail Goggles has you covered.

Mail Goggles is a badass little application that works through Gmail during the wee hours of the morning. Before you send that e-mail of death, the program (when enabled) makes sure you’re in good standings by making you do a couple of simple math problems. The app. is fully customizable, letting the user select the days of the week as well as time slots that they want Goggles to apply to.

When you enable Mail Goggles, it will check that you’re really sure you want to send that late night Friday email. And what better way to check than by making you solve a few simple math problems after you click send to verify you’re in the right state of mind?

By default, Mail Goggles is only active late night on the weekend as that is the time you’re most likely to need it. Once enabled, you can adjust when it’s active in the General settings.

Hopefully Mail Goggles will prevent many of you out there from sending messages you wish you hadn’t. Like that late night memo — I mean mission statement — to the entire firm.

I think the app. is still in production, but this is just another way of showing why Goggle kicks ass.

  • Adobe Flash For the iPhone: Coming Soon

    Fucking thank god:

Upon a direct question from the audience, Paul Betlem for the first time publicly confirmed that Adobe is actively developing a Flash Player for Apple’s popular phone. He said (not direct quote) “My team is working on Flash on the iPhone, but it’s a closed platform.” He noted that Apple makes all the decisions, so in other words, the ball is in Apple’s yard at this time. If Apple says yes, Adobe will have the player available in a very short time.

So in anticipation of Devin The Dude’s new album, “Landing Gear,” I stumbled across the cover artwork and it made me giggle and it’s fly. Get it? I’m tired. “Landing Gear” drops October 7th. Get ready for it to BLOW YOUR MIND.

    Jill Greenberg

Photog Jill Greenberg was hired to shoot McCain for The Atlantic Monthly. She was able to sneak in this ultra flattering manipulated picture from the photo shoot on to her Web site. This face is going to give me nightmares, thanks.

  • MySpace Music Store

By the end of September the MySpace music store will be up and running. It will allow users to download and stream millions of songs from major labels. New music and back catalog will be available.

MySpace Music will be competing with Apple iTunes but they are planning on offering more music sharing and an overall better program. The downloads will be powered through Amazon. Fans can share music through personal MySpace pages, build communal playlists and use the store to buy tickets or artist merchandise.

MySpace Music will focus on sharing music and gathering new tracks from friends. You can check out what others are listening to also. So quit your complaining about the new Facebook and start using MySpace again. At least it will have handy applications like this.

It’ll look something like this so you can buy tracks/albums right off the artist page:
