If you like Slayer, but are afraid of Slayer fans — and who isn’t? — fear not, you can still see the band perform live without having their unwashed masses sweat their misanthropy on you. YeboTV will stream Slayer’s Aug. 25th performance at the San Diego Sports Arena live on the Internet. Slayer fans who prefer a bit of detachment from Slayer Fans can watch from the comforts of their own home or torture chamber via YeboTV’s home page. They can also access the broadcast via EspGuitars.com, Slayer.net or HotTopic.com. The show starts at 8 PM Pacific time and is apart of Slayer’s headlining tour with Marilyn Manson. I bet you will like The Wombats. For one minute, you’ll really like it. I bet a dollar on it.
Then again, I lost a dollar bet last night on a Cure remix track.
It’s unfortunate that the Wombats’ Myspace link is /wombatsuk. Read it again. Wombat suk.
The Wombats are dancy, manic, catchy, and oh-so-British powerpop.
Their line “Here’s another song about a gender I’ll never understand?” I feel that one. Don’t you?
Ruefully, I am pumping my fist in my head (my “headfist”). And I don’t even like it that much. fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk
I’m over buzz bands.

MTV.com recently covered Against Me! in their Bigger Than The Sound section. I’m currently within 10 feet of no less than 2 major publications that have the words “Against Me!” and “Best Album of the Year” on the cover. I saw 3 kids yesterday with the New Wave tiger on their shirt, and to top it off they’re playing in our cute lil town of Chico within a couple of months.
Its official: A.M! is probably going the way of Green Day, but with integrity. A couple of years ago I heard of them in the dorms and fell in love ( Pints of Guiness Makes You Stronger was the official drinking song on Tuesday nights). I guess you can say its a cycle, I stole them from a select group of punkers, and now America is stealing them from me. You know what? New Wave is my favorite of 2007 (sorry Circa), and these dudes rock hard. Raise your pints tonight and cheers a badass band.

A member of New Found Glory’s crew was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor last night in Indianapolis.
Looks like we need a lil refresher course here. When a police man or woman pulls your car over, be friendly, and if they ask to search your vehicle, tell them, in a friendly tone, “no.”
Unless they have probable cause (for instance, if you’re driving with an open container, if you’re black, or you wear a turban and a beard, or if you have long hair and tattoos), they can not legally search your car. If you have something illegal on you - then ESPECIALLY don’t let them search your car. Let your lawyers handle it.
According to a press release, New Found Glory were traveling in the Indianapolis area, and their tour bus was pulled over for driving with the high beams on. The police pulled them over and searched the vehicle, and a member of NFG’s crew was subsequently charged with a misdemeanor. We have not determined this for a fact, but most likely the cops found something like a dimebag of weed. No one in New Found Glory was arrested, and they will be playing their Warped Tour dates as scheduled.
(I bet you a dollar that one of their roadies is taking the fall for someone.)
You know what? Fuck it, that cop’s a toolshed. I bet you he high fived every meathead in his squad when he got back to the station. Don’t fuck with our rock stars, THEY’RE OUR ROYALTY. You wouldn’t pull over Princess Di, would you?
First Willie Nelson, now New Found Glory? What’s this world coming to?
Don’t let them search your car.

There’s no doubting the genius of R. Kelly. I’m not trying to kid, though. I’m serious. Every time I hear “Ignition” is like the first time, and the version of the National Anthem he did a while back was one of the best I’ve ever heard.
I, like many, was both thrilled and confused by Kelly’s hip-hopera Trapped in the Closet. But I guess it’s not entirely for mortals to understand. The ending left us all a bit hanging, but fear not, Kells is a man of his word. Trapped in the Closet, chapters 13 through 22 will be available on DVD August 21st. Check out Kelly’s trailer for the video at Stereogum.
