Celebrating its 31st anniversary, The Harmony Festival (and the adjoining Eco Cup environmentally conscious skate festival), will be taking place at the Sonoma County Fairgrounds in Santa Rosa, CA, from June 12th - 14th. It’s set to be quite a shindig this year with musical headliners including Michael Franti & Spearhead, India.Arie, Matisyahu, CAKE, Dead Kennedys, Bad Brains, Pepper & Rebelution. From the Pro Skate world, Bob Burnquist and Danny Way, plus PLG, Jake Brown, Andy MacDonald and Buster Halterman will compete on the mini-MegaRamp (175-feet long, 30-foot drop, 25-feet gap, 18-foot quarter pipe), and skate legends Steve Caballero and Christian Hosoi will be on site for judging, demos and meet-and greets. Many speakers will also give the 411, and these include Julia Butterfly Hill, George Noory and Daniel Pinchbeck, among others. Plus, there’s plenty of camping for this all ages, family friendly event.

I’m not even going to dignify this with anything more than stating Kanye West thinks he’s bigger than the world, and hopefully he realizes he’s a pompous ass when gets a week’s stay in the joint for assault. From Durden:

A still photographer was trying to take pics of Kanye at the American Airlines terminal. According to our guy on the scene, Kanye allegedly confronted the photog and smashed his camera to the ground. Our photog then began videotaping the scene when Kanye’s bodyguard grabbed our camera — a struggle ensued and the bodyguard threw the video camera to the ground, breaking it. When Kanye realized our camera guy had videotaped the incident, he rushed our guy and yelled, “Gimme that f**king tape!” Both Kanye and his bodyguard have been arrested and will be booked.

Hell, who am I kidding. He’s going to be given yet another slap on the wrist like so many celebs do these days. Kind of depressing isn’t it? They’ve got all the cash in the world to be able to pay off these fines for drunk driving and battery, yet I get busted for peeing on top of a cop car and suddenly it’s a big deal. WTF?!

Don LaFontaine, the “King of Movie Trailers”, has died today due to a collapsed lung.  Most of you are going “who the fuck is Don LaFontaine?!”, but if I had a super deep voice and read the lines to any Terminator/ Die Hard/ Big Name Action Movie, you would go “Ohh!!! The dude who started out every trailer with ‘In a world…’”.  From Associated Content.com:

Don LaFontaine died on Monday from complications related to a collapsed lung. Many had heard the voice of Don LaFontaine but none had actually seen him until recently when he was in a Geico insurance commercial. LaFontaine had been nicknamed “King of the Movie Trailers” after he had been heard in thousands of radio and television commercials. LaFontaine has been survived by his wife, actress and singer Nita Whitaker, and three children, as reported by AHN.

LaFontiane died at the age of 68 and is best known by the famous catch phrase that he was often heard saying, “In a world…” and in the Geico commercial he was known as the announcer guy. LaFontaine was reported to have died at the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles and there has been no official report as to the cause of death as of now, as reported by 610 WTV.
