In good ol Hartford Conn.,it was reported that a 78-year-old-man was the victim of a hit and run last week, while walking home from the grocery store. I know that if my grandfather was taken down like that, I would hunt the S.O.B down with a vengeance, and show him a thing or two about a hit and run. This is terrible. It’s just proof that no one really gives a damn about anyone anymore. There seems to be a lack of social empathy. Americans are just so busy, spending stimulus checks, drooling over the next version of the iPhone, spending countess hours on myspace or facebook, that sometimes we miss the needs of others, even when they are right in front of our face. I’m not pointing fingers or placing the blame on anyone because I will be the first to admit, I am just as guilty as the next, but right here, and right now, I propose we start a movement. Like the Bay Area getting hyphy, I say we start the EMPATHY movement.
I am not the only one that feels this way. There are some states that already have Good Samaritan laws intact, but does it really take a law to help folks remember social etiquette? What has this world come to where there needs to be laws made and passed, reminding us to show some freakin humanity towards each other? Makes me kind of sad, that’s all. So, starting tomorrow, I will be the one to start the movement. Maybe I will open the door for someone, instead of just push my way through, smile at a stranger or even give some change to a bum, so they too can get their drink on and spread the love.
I leave you with a little motivation…
And I am out..

“Suicide Is Painless” would be a pretty bad ass final quote to scrawl in the dust on the hood of your car right before you did a swan dive off a bridge, at least that’s what Samuel Israel III thought. The convicted “hedge fund swindler” was supposed to report to federal prison after being sentenced to 20 years in April for being a thieving little bastard. He convinced investors to put more than $450 million in to Bayou hedge funds, which have since collapsed, and was ordered to pay back $300 million to his victims.
Too bad this whole thing is guaranteed to be a farce. The FBI says there has been no body found, and nobody saw anybody jump. I can’t say I blame the dude for faking it though. I mean, if somebody was like “show up at my office in a few weeks to report to prison where you are sure to get used like a dick receptical for about 20 years straight” I would probably find a way to fuck off in the meantime too.

Victoria Gotti, daughter of the late Gambino crime family boss “Dapper Don” John Gotti and reality television star of “Growing Up Gotti” has been sued by HarperCollins Publishers. The company gave Gotti a $70,000 advance for her memoir that was never written and the money was not returned. Gotti signed a contract with HarperCollins in 2005 to publish two books, one of which was her memoir.
Court papers were filed Thursday at New York State Court for the book that is long overdue. Gotti told HarperCollins Publishers LLC that she was terminating their contract last September and that she will return the money when her literary agent, Frank Weiman, signs her another deal. Gotti made the book deal with former publishing boss Judith Regan. Gotti did not hold up her end because Regan and editors she had formed the contract with left HarperCollins.

A man with one leg was caught after heisting cars from rental companies in the Philadelphia International Airport. The Philadelphia man, 44-year-old Benjamin Copeland, is without a right leg and still managed to steal five rental cars in under a month. He stole the cars from the Budget and Avis rental car lots which was shocking to police.
Police say the crime would be difficult for anyone to commit and cannot fathom how a man missing a leg was able to steal cars repeatedly without getting caught. Police say stealing cars right off the lot is not an easy task because it is under surveillance and have security all around.
Copeland uses crutches for his disability and missing his right leg must have made driving difficult when operating the gas pedal. Copeland was able to find a way around this. Copeland would ride the rental company’s shuttle bus that took him to the lot. He figured out that if he hit a button inside the shuttle, the exit gate at the end of the lot would go up. He then got into a rental SUV, where the keys were inside, and drove out the exit.
Whenever an SUV would run out of gas, Copeland would leave the vehicle where it was because he could not afford the gas. This made it easy for the police to find the vehicles reported stolen. One of the stolen cars was parked in front of Copeland’s home. When he went to get into the vehicle, Police arrested him outside his home on June 5th. He confessed and told police where they could find the other stolen cars.
Copeland is well-known by Philadelphia police due to his 17 prior arrests for crimes such as robbery, assault and narcotics.
