Finn Riggins
Vs. Wilderness
Tender Loving Empire

Every so often, an experimental band pierces through the mix of noise, ambience and self-indulgent repetitive instrumentals. Finn Riggins does exactly this. The Idaho-based trio has created their third album for Tender Loving Empire, and it kicks the asses of indie rockers that thought they had it all figured out. Rich with vocal harmonies, multi-meter grooves and even a rocking steal drum lead, Vs. Wilderness is well worth the purchase. The album has a dynamic unlike many as Riggins change from heavy to soft while maintaining the same intensity throughout each progressive jam. I would classify their sound a cross pollination between the musical oddities and vocals of the Pixies and the grooves of Rx Bandits or the Mars Volta. Go out on a limb and check this band.
