The Humboldt Fire Was Arson

<sarcasm>Wow shocking!</sarcasm>

The Humboldt Fire, which broke out June 11 beside Old Humboldt Road east of Chico, was intentionally set, arson investigators have announced.The blaze charred 23,500 acres and destroyed more than 80 homes in and around Paradise.

A multi-agency team of investigators began working to determine the cause of the fire minutes after it was reported.

Probably just the work of some crazy ass pyro fucktard, who starts fires to get his dick hard. Because really, who else would intentionally want to see a raging wildland fire this early in the fire season?

In the past decade there has been an average of 116,000 wildfires per year in our nation’s
forests. According to Federal statistics, 102,000 of them were person-caused, both accidentally
and intentionally. A miniscule number of arson fires in our national forests are set by federally-
employed firefighters; nevertheless, a retired Forest Service fire administrator estimates that 10
to 20 wildfires per year are deliberately started by firefighters. A director of the Western Fire
Ecology Center in Eugene, Oregon, noted that, “we only hear of the very worst and blatant
incidents, where people are caught red-handed or confess.”

Note that though the report confidently states that a ” miniscule number of arson fires in our national forests are set by federally-employed firefighters” it makes no mention of state, and locally employed firefighters who stand to gain signifigant financial windfalls from such fire, nor those in the private sector who likewise stand to gain financially from large scale wildland fires. I’m not saying, I’m just sayin…
