4 officers fired, 3 disciplined in Philidelphia police br00tality case.

Pretty much everybody on the intertets has seen the footage of the officers kicking the tar out of those three dudes in Philidelphia last week. Of course there has been a huge public outcry calling for the officers collective heads ever since, and the punishment finally came down.

“Four Philadelphia police officers will be fired, three others will be disciplined and a supervising sergeant will be demoted because of the violent beating of three suspects caught after a shooting, the city’s mayor and police commissioner said Monday. ”

Before I state my opinion let me say that I am NOT condoning police brutality, or any brutality for that matter. I’m a total pussy and would probably break in half if an officer so much as twisted my arm behind my back to put cuffs on me for being a drunken bafoon. But I will say this: If I were a suspect in a shooting, and I RAN FROM THE POLICE IN A HIGH SPEED CAR CHASE, I would expect to get roughed up, or even shot.

So what I’m saying is, I’m cool with everybody defending the common man when he gets fucked with for no reason. But I’m not all that cool with getting bent out of shape in defense of people who were RUNNING FROM THE POLICE IN A HIGH SPEED CAR CHASE, putting other people’s lives in danger in the process, and were already suspects in a shooting. How about defending people that don’t run from the police or shoot people and get beaten up anyway? That might make a tad more sense.

It’s sad that people lose sight of the crime that these men were suspected of committing, and ignore everything that happened leading up to the beating, and only focus on how they were treated once they were caught. But I will tell you this, if those dudes were suspected of shooting someone that you cared about, I guarantee you would NOT be one of the people raising a ruckus about how rough they were treated after they were RUNNING FROM THE POLICE IN A HIGH SPEED CAR CHASE!!
