Actress Scarlett Johansson has taken to the music game with a May 20th release date of her debut album Anywhere I Lay My Head. Her first video, for the track “Falling Down,” has been met with yawns and surly criticism, but I’m fairly sure that she could fart on a snare drum and I’d listen to it. Wait, that was gross. Okay, if she were to have just a recording of her breathing and chewing on food and belching, I would totally buy it. I’m not joking. Although  yesterday was supposed to be my prescribed day to select the Synthesis Band You’ve Never Heard Of…OF THE DAY!!111, I waited until today because the band in question, the pop savages known as We Shot The Moon actually have their debut record, Fear and Love, in stores, TODAY! Though you might not have heard of We Shot The Moon, chances are you’ve heard of the guys in it: Jonathan Jones, former frontman of Waking Ashland and Joe Greenetz and Dan Koch of Sherwood. Though Greenetz and Koch are too busy touring with Sherwood to hit the road to promote Fear and Love, Jones and a few friends will be making the rounds of the US over the next few months, touring the shit out of the record, which, as you might expect sounds a lot like Waking Ashland and Sherwood, so in other words: poppy as F, but in a good way. Notoriously athletic golf star John Daly recently made an appearance at the incredibly named Murder Rock Golf Club (I wanna play there and buy a T-shirt…) without a shirt, shoes and sporting a cigarette in his mouth.

Man, if all else fails, I guess I could be John Daly’s caddy; I’m way down with being shirtless and shoeless out in the sun chain smoking. John Daly, you are my hero…except for the perpetual mullet. Come ooonnnnn…

Boston Celtics star Paul Pierce has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for an apparent gang signed flashed to Atlanta Hawks player Al Horford. Whether or not the gesture is indeed gang-related, it appeared to be the sign for “Bloods,” although the interpretation is foggy at best.

“I know it was unique,” NBA commissioner David Stern said about the fine. “You can check the gesture and you can check what it’s usually compared to. Our guys made their decision. I’m not into the etymology of gestures.”

Today, Texas Congressman Ron Paul introduced the “Medical Marijuana Patient Protection Act”, H.R. 5842. This bill would bar the Federal Government and DEA from intervening in doctor/patient relationships that violate no state law.

As a physician, the Congressman believes that doctors and patients should make health care decisions, not politicians or federal agents. He cites a study by Scientists at the University of California at Davis that says cannabis demonstrates significant relief of neuropathic pain. He also explained the suffering of Mr. Forss, a patient who had spent $18,000 in one year trying to find a medicine that would cure his pain from a ruptured disc in his neck. Can you guess the only thing that worked for him? Hint: it’s green.

“The bottom line is that K.K. Forss should be treated as a free American. Mr. Forss is one of many who would like to use marijuana medicinally because it helps him. Politicians and bureaucrats have no right to interfere”

Vivid Entertainment announced plans to release a sex tape allegedly starring Jimi Hendrix. Apparently, the footage was shot some 40 years ago in a hotel room with two women.  Interesting how all these celebrity sex tapes are surfacing from over 35 years ago. Hoax? You be the judge…
