It's an ABSURD amount of money, but the Hampton contract all but hamstrung the Rockies (coupled with the Denny Neagle Experience). The Giants still have money coming from somewhere to pay for this nonsense, and then sign Aaron Rowand. I’ll say Hampton for 1 reason: Brian Sabean can afford to fail with Zito.
