The Pharcyde To Reunite For Rock The Bells Tour 2008

The boys of The Pharcyde will be hitting up the stage @ Rock The Bells Tour 2008, marking a rather unexpected reunion. For the first time in 10 years all the original members will be performing together…

Best known for their 1992 hit “Passin’ Me By” off of Bizarre Ride II the Pharcyde, the alt.rap stars haven’t released anything together since their 2004 release Humboldt Beginnings, which featured only Imani and Bootie Brown. Fatlip left the group after reported drug problems around 1996, and SlimKid3 followed around 2002 (although his departure was said to be on better terms with the rest of the group). This reunion has been a long time coming, and I’m stoked to see it’s finally here.

Featuring performances by A Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Mos Def, De La Soul, Rakim, Method Man & Redman, Raekwon & Ghostface (Cuban Linx), Immortal Technique, Dead Prez, Murs and Kidz In The Hall, the ROCK THE BELLS 2008 INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL SERIES POWERED BY SANDISK once again is marked by the leading hip-hop line-up seen on one bill this year. This year will be highlighted with an unexpected reunion of The Pharcyde. But it does not stop there, as fans will also see performances by the brightest names in the emerging electro-hip hop scene including Spank Rock, Santogold, Kid Sister, Wale, Flosstradamus, Jay Electronica and The Cool Kids with hosts B-Real of Cypress Hill and the world renowned Supernatural.
