Kelly just left Portland after having lived there 2-3 years. He moved to Peru. No joke. He’d been a Spanish teacher in Red Bluff, CA at one point, and just decided to get a bit closer to the source.

I was hassling him for ages to put something out. Around the time the North Magnetic EP came out in 2002, he’d also home-recorded a handful of songs under the Arnica Sync name. Those five songs are goddamn good, and that’s putting it lightly. And they never even saw official release.

Meanwhile, those two Deathstar EPs continue to rule the school. I’m still bummed I had to miss their reunion show in Chico a few Christmases back.
