This soldier served with his own life in danger, and it is sad that people are judging him a monster (let alone threatening his mother) over a dog's life. We all harden ourselves and tune out suffering selectively to deal with reality. Even if his conduct was outrageous, it is no fallacy to urge that outrage be spent on something more important.
