Tonight’s Van Halen Concert at John Paul Jones Arena Cancelled: Virginian Rock Chix with Spandex one-pieces, fat-rolls and bleach-fried hair are bummed

Sit down Waldo, tonight’s Van Halen Concert at John Paul Jones Arena in Charlottesville, VA has been postponed. According to the Richmond Times Dispatch the band’s equipment trucks had already arrived at the venue, suggesting a last-minute catastrophe. Normally we would speculate cocaine/herion overdose, but the boys are getting up there in age; perhaps heart attack or stroke? Maybe Eddie Van Halen’s hair is suffering from exhaustion. Either way, countless Budweiser-fueled tailgate parties will be postponed until an undetermined later date. Same goes for Monday’s concert in Duluth, GA.
John Paul Jones could not be reached for comment. But I still think his production on Butthole Surfers’ Independent Worm Saloon was totally badass.
Whatever, you still can’t front on the drum intro to “Hot For Teacher.”
In other news, I haven’t seen how Eddie Van Halen looks in a bit. Let’s check in:

I’m in Richmond, VA and was headed up the road for the show. Neither the promoters or the band’s spokesman are commenting on why the show was postponed. Apparantly the trucks with all the equipment were at the venue and ready to load in.
Just speculation on my part, but I’m guessing Eddie got hip to the Valerie Bertinelli interview that just hit the web about the reason they split up and Eddie flipped off the wagon and got WAAAAASSSSSSTTTTTEEEEDDDD!
Yeah well I drove up there from Richmond as well, to say I’m not exactly thrilled at driving all that way just to find this out is an understatement.
Now supposedly we can get refunds or they’ll do this sometime in the spring, but as of now I’m out $30 just in fuel, no comments on the price of the ticket itself.
Just think, spend a couple benjies to see someone I really care about listening to. I don’t go to concerts much, I’m about 42 and this would’ve been my 3rd concert ever but it’s crap like this is the reason I normally don’t even bother.
May Van Halen have a nice day, I suppose I’ve learned my lesson.
I’m pissed because the promoters aren’t giving any explanation why the show was “postponed”. I’ve talked with some employees at John Paul Jones Arena.
They stated the trucks and the band were there … except for David Lee Roth.
So I don’t know if it was cancelled because of Roth or because EVH is pissed with Valerie telling everyone she was porking Stephen Spielberg behind his back.
If Eddie did fall of the wagon you can guarantee the tour with be canned. It’s been stated in the press if he starts drinking on the tour Valerie will pull Wolfgang of the tour.
