When violence arose after election results were released in Kenya, the country’s population was thrown into turmoil with opposing sides clashing and everyday citizens bearing the brunt of the destruction.
Extra Golden, a band consisting of Kenyans and Americans, have been caught up in the middle of the turmoil. The band was planning on playing a celebratory show the night of the elections. Now the African members of the band are stranded with no work, and with food and clean water running out. Singer Onyango Jagwasi’s house has also been looted, and he and his family have taken refuge in Nairobi. The American members of the band, Alex Minoff and Ian Eagleson, are doing their best to help their stranded band mates. They’ve set up a PayPal account and are asking for a $5 donation to help their bandmates.
If you want to make a donation they have a paypal at service@kanyokanyo.com.
