BBC News has reported that the Red Hot Chili Peppers are suing Showtime Network because of their show Californication starring David Duchovny.
The band says the title is “immediately associated in the mind of the consumer” with its 1999 album and single release.
In their defense the makers of the show have stated that they got the title from a 1970s bumper sticker. Maybe Flea and company can work up a class action suit. Read the full story here.

You know, what a bunch of money hungry butt hurt musicians. RHCP should be glad Showtime chose that title for that super successful show. Maybe when people read it, they’ll hear stupid Flea singing that painfully sticky song “…dream of californication!!!!!” Waitaminute. Isn’t it Californ-ya-cation? Or is it in fact Californ-ih-cation? Oh who the hell cares! I never liked their depressing music anyway. Put on Tupac, please, and spin me some California Love.
the red hot chili peppers sure have sucked for quite a while. that show is five thousand times better than the song of similar name.
