I just got off the phone with a detective from the Chico PD. Apparently, they suspect somebody was murdered in my old house I lived in a few years back, by the train tracks…and by a bum bridge by the creek. It happened in my old room. Here:
They fished some poor woman out of the Sacramento River and suspect it was her boyfriend that did her in. They found blood stains “the size of a foot” in my old room, where they lived after me.
I keep my nose clean, so it’s really weird talking to a detective about a possible murder. I don’t think he thinks I did it. After I answered his questions, like when I lived there and if I had ever had an accident resulting in loss of blood in my room, we ended up talking about The Shield and The Raiders for a second. But it’s still weird talking to a detective, especially thinking that some young woman bought it in my room.

The detective had a sense of humor, and even suggested that I come up with a good story for my roommate when he asks me why the cops came by looking for me. If you have a good one, email it to editorial@synthesis.net.
