Idiot Pilot

I remember being at the first Taste of Chaos a couple of years ago and seeing a band on the side stage that was basically two kids dancing around and hollering over a some crazy pre-recorded electronica stuff…one of the kids had the typical screamo rawr-voice but the other kids voice sounded like the guy from Muse or Thom Yorke with a little more balls. It was like watching one of those YouTube videos of Korean kids in their living rooms lip-syncing to Senses Fail but actually real. I found out later that the band was called Idiot Pilot, and that they were basically on some next level shit. On some “who needs instruments when you can just put it all on your sampler and play it over the PA and scream and wear tight jeans and be ultra awesome?” type shit. I mean, they actually play the instruments at some point, in the studio or whatever. And they’re pretty good at that part too. I’m listening to their new record right now and I’m kind of into it. But that also might be because I just drank a bunch of coffee, then used that same cup to drink a glass of water, that still tasted kind of like coffee. COFFEEEEEE.

Anways I don’t know what their new record is called or when it’s gonna be out and I’m too lazy to actually go look, but it’s good. If you like post-OK Computer Radiohead and semi-sappy cornball emo shit, this will be right up your alley. FUCKING COFFEE MAN!
