From HITS: The reformed Smashing Pumpkins will launch Zeitgeist, their first album of new material since 2000, to be released on July 10, with a pair of residencies: nine shows at the Orange Peel in Asheville, NC (June 23, 24, 26, 27, 29, 30 and July 2, 3 and 5) as well as eight shows at the Fillmore in S.F. (July 22, 24, 25, 27, 28, 30 and 31 and Aug. 1). The band will play songs from the new album, classics and tunes written the day of the show. General admission tickets for these all-ages shows go on sale Sunday, May 20. The S.F. tickets ($25 each) will be available at 10:00 a.m. Pacific via www.ticketmaster.com and www.livenation.com. For the Asheville show, tickets ($20) will go on sale at 1:00 p.m. Eastern at www.theorangepeel.net or www.ticketweb.com. Tickets are only available on the Internet for these shows.
