Sometimes not watching TV (except for LOST and the Sopranos) has its drawbacks. For example, where the fuck was I when America’s Most Wanted had Miss America 2007 Lauren Nelson pose as a 13-year-old girl to lure online sex predators to a televised bust?? I mean, fuck, that’s some QUALITY TV! The only thing is, now Nelson is saying that she has no plans to testify against any of the 11 men busted on the show, meaning that they could be free to TOTALLY LURK YOUR DAUGHTER ON MYSPACE ZZZZZOMG.

“You’ve now made Miss America a witness,” said attorney Michael Brown, of Central Islip, who represents Ronald Stahl, 43, of Holbrook — one of the 11 men nabbed in the sting. “If Miss America is going to be saying that, ‘This is the person I had a chat with,’ I absolutely have the right to cross-examine her,’ ” said Brown, who said the possible complications are just one of the many reasons police usually avoid recruiting civilians — much less celebrities — to assist in busts.
