The Return of Buffalo Tom

Buffalo Tom were pretty much one of the best bands you never really heard about in the early to mid nineties. “Soda Jerk” is pretty much THE prototypical pre-indie alt-rock track (I mean, they played it on My So Called Life, what more do you need to know) and the album it was on, Big Red Letter Day, is pretty much fucking epic. I had basically forgotten about these fuckers until the other night at the bar “Soda Jerk” came on and made me wonder whether or not they had a Myspace page (which they do) so I could lace up my page with that shit. And lo and behold, it turns out the band is coming out with a new record this July. And even more unbelievable, is that they apparently played at this year’s SXSW and I totally blew it by not knowing about. FUCKERS. Anyways, if you’re Buffalo Tom’s publicist, send me that record and make it snappy. And if you’re my ex-girlfriend don’t even THINK about putting that shit on your Myspace profile, I called dibs.
