I mean, you always hear people jocking all up on Cedric Bixler-Zavala-Hernandez-Lopez’s nuts and saying Mars Volta is the shit, but for my money, the only post-At the Drive In band that’s worth listening to is Sparta. I mean, check out “While Oceania Sleeps” on their space and tell that song doesn’t whip the balls off of any 10-minute spockadelic Mars Volta Jam, or for that matter, really any At The Drive In song. OH SHIT…yeah I said it. Fuck an e-fro. Sparta has the jams. Plus now they have Keeley Davis from Engine Down, one of the most criminally underrated bands ever, playing guitar for them. CRED.
